Trouble TTC

Aaahh! Vent (bfp mentioned, not mine)

Aaahhhh!!!

So on thanksgiving my mom texted me to tell me that my cousin was pregnant (no one in my family knows we are going through IF treatments so it was nothing bad on her part). I had my WTF! moment and moved on and I really am happy for her. Then we had a party for DH's work group and one of the wives is 20 weeks pregnant (we have know for a few weeks) and that was all anyone wanted to talk about. Once again no one knows we are doing treatments and I congratulated her and am super happy for them….but now I just found out my friends sister is pregnant….why am I surrounded by pregos! Not only that but I am in my first 2ww after IUI so i'm trying to stay rational/calm as it is….grrr.

Ok feeling a little better :) How do you ladies deal with the 2ww without losing it or crashing the internet with research?

I feel ya @jmforte33 3 of my cousins announced that they are all pregnant this past month all due in the same week, I was like "really" of course I'm bitter, so it's okay to be upset. We all know the feeling. Everyone knows that we are battling IF In our family and friends, and i don't know if that's better or worse bc the you get the stupid unwanted advice like "just stop thinking about it and you'll get pregnant", or stupid wivestails. After our first two clomid cycles, I've stayed off google, and research with my 3t bumpies instead.

  • I totally feel you.  My sister-in-law just announced she was pregnant, knowing that I have had trouble, but don't worry she knows "exactly what I am going through" and knows how hard it will be to "watch her progression."  I love when people without fertility issues know what we are going through!  All I wanted to say was, Progress this!  I am in my 2ww too and trying to wait until test day (12-12).  It's brutal.  Good luck to you!

I totally understand. Today as I type my cousin is having her baby. They started trying about 4 months after we did. I also have a friend that started same time as we did and is loving on there twins right now.

I just have to keep telling myself to relax and be happy for them and one day our time will come.

Married in September 2010, started TTC journey November 2012

    Me-

    7 IUI- 2 CP- 2 BFN

RPL blood work 12/27, showed a balance translocation in chromosome 11;22

    Spouse-

    PCOS 4 IUI-4 BFN

New Plan: Reciprocal IVF, me as carrier wife's eggs. Just went through insurance and received partial approval, so my part will go through my IVF benefits and wife's part will be out of pocket. Now just finalizing finance plans to cover the oop costs. Doctors office is in process of moving to a new building so there are no IVF start ups until March/April 2015.

  • I also understand.  My sister in law announced that she is pregnant during Thanksgiving (first month trying, grr).  DH and I joked that wouldn't it be funny if we were both PG at the same time.  Well, that isn't looking likely so I am trying to stay happy for them.  Luckily, we aren't getting together for Christmas so hopefully I can avoid all of the pregnancy craziness (and the questions about us).  Most of our family is also not aware of our IF struggles.

    Married 10/06

Baby Girl "C" arrived on 10/07/14 (39 weeks, 6 days)

  • Sometimes when I hear of friends/family getting pregnant so fast. I secretly hope their baby is colicky, and my husband says he hopes their baby will be ugly !!!! hahaha it deff helps to poke fun (privately) at the situation and have someone else to share in the grief. ANYONE ELSE DO THIS? OR ARE WE TERRIBLE PEOPLE? >:) X_X >:)

I always take note on either 1. how unattractive the baby is or 2. how stupid the baby's name is. DH is not so good at doing this with me, but my BF who is not married totally understands. For her, we bash peoples weddings and spouses :)

  • I'm sorry you have to deal with that. It's always the worst when you have to fake the smile and be happy happy happy! My step brother and his wife just announced that they're having their 3rd (no troubles of course) and a coworker's wife just gave birth (they weren't even trying).
Even after 4 IUI's I still find something to look up on the internet. It's ok to feel crazy during the 2ww...it really messes with your head!!!

  • @JMForte33, I totally relate to every word! I crash internet and I get pretty obsessive. I like numbers too. Last 2ww I found statistical models for IUI success with PCOS patients on pubmed, and it kept me occupied for a couple of days. Also, I focus on my work (love my job!), and do art projects (art gives great relief). Anything to get my head occupied works, until my willpower decides to quit.
Closer to AF date I avoid social events with possible preg announcements. I thought I was doing fine, until some months ago I had to seek refuge in unfamiliar people's bathroom for a private cry. I blame hormones for that...
