I'm gonna start this because LO will NOT fall back to sleep. Instead he is head butting me with his wobbly-ness. Ow.
He has been sleeping longer stretches...Like 3 hours at night at a time but we've been up for over an hour eating, spitting, changing repeat.

What baby items do you have/receive that you couldn't live without?
What items were a complete waste of money?
I'm obsessed with the Jolly Jumper Artic car seat cover (a must in MT) and the sound machine with projector that is currently occupying LO.
Why I ever bought a cover for the changing pad is beyond me. It's been in the wash more than anything and whenever I put it on LO will promptly spit up/pee on it.
I've given up and it's in the drawer.

Re: MOTN and GTKY
I cannot live without the Boppy. Hands free breast freeding is where it's at.
The waste of money item is the swing so far. It's huge, it was pricey, and he couldn't give less of a fuck about it. I wish I got a RnP instead.
Eta fat fingers hit post too soon
We love the rock n play! He sleeps in it and it's easy to take with us for when we visit family. He lives it!
The waste of money is the swing. He just doesn't seem to like it. He will swing for a couple minutes then start crying.
That being said, maybe my baby carriers. Mostly because now that I have two kids, when we're out and about, it is helpful to have at least one of them contained in a hands-free way.
Waste of money? Not sure of that either. Our big splurge this time was the Mamaroo. Lo seems to chill in it on occasion and it is nice to have a place to set her when needed. Wouldn't say I couldn't live without it though.
Most valuable item has been the Halo Sleep Sack and Swaddle I got as a gift from the hospital. Also my bouncer which sits in the P&P that LO won't sleep in. However is a great stand for the bouncer she does sleep in SCORE!
Biggest waste of money would be the swing. I thought she was going to love it but she is pretty Meh about it.
Most of the baby items are from DS1, but something I bought this time that I love is my Ergo!!!! Shaping up to be best baby purchase ever!
DS1 loved the swing Ds2 not so much!!! But of the things bought this time, I am not really a fan of the Aden & anais swaddling blankets! They are to stretchy, and it doesn't matter how tight I swaddle DS2 he somehow gets out!
The one item I use the most has to be the boppy but I would also add the RnP, ktan, puj tub and halo sleep sacks to the list.
Biggest waste of money is hard because we never had a shower and really didn't buy much. The seahorse was a bust. Also cutesy little hooded towels. They are too thin to keep LO warm. We just throw a regular towel in the dryer to wrap him up with post bath, he is much happier that way.
Couldn't live without item...burp clothes! Haha. Seriously underestimated the need for lots of those puppies! No big ticket items comes to mind...maybe his swing. It saves us in the MOTN when he's refusing to sleep in his bassinet.
Waste of money...his entire nursery- ha! I'm not sure why we scramble to make their nurseries perfect when he's probably been in it a half dozen times. Maybe someday...
GTKY -
Can't live without - the swing, bouncy seat, and playmat.
Complete waste - wipe warmer and bottle warmer. These were life savers during MOTN feedings/diaper changes with DS1 though.
ETA: pacifiers are also a complete waste. This kid will not take one for more than a couple minutes. I'm about to give up trying. We've tried 4 different ones and he hates them all.
I couldn't live without the boppy for sure and the swing since it is the only place LO will sleep. I didn't even buy a swing because I thought it was pointless but after a week of no sleep my mom purchased one for me and life hasn't been the same since.
Biggest waste was the infant insert on the ergo. He is six weeks and hates having his legs confined so he sits in the ergo well but screams bloody murder if I try to use that insert.
We can't live with out the swing. It is swing/bouncer and DS takes every nap in it
Waste of money? The seahorse and a. Noise machine that only stays on 45in:( hoping to get the mar PAC Dom for Xmas

Can't live with out item has to be our swing, moby and bouncy seat.
Complete waste of money has to be the bottle warmer we were given and changing table. We change him where ever and I have yet to actually use it.
Can't live without... Soothies, A&A swaddle blankets, her activity mat she looooves, her swing
Waste of money... Diaper pail - I somehow always get poop on me trying to work that thing out, and bottle warmer, ergo infant insert

The only thing my lo can't live without is the boob. I hate to admit we are dependent on the rnp though.
Totally could live without the pnp, ALL THE BABY TOWELS, and since I never even got one, a swing.
Trying no swaddle this go around and we'll see how LO does.
I love this GTNY!
I did think that the one item I wish we had gotten is a glider. I absolutely assumed that I could live without it. For MOTN feeds I use a wooden rocking chair with a pillow on the seat. Who knew how much time I could spend in that thing! Baby #2 will get a Cadillac of a glider for momma!
Can't live without boppy and rnp.
Complete waste so far is diaper genie and pnp.
Can't live without my Brest friend pillow. Was a life saver in the early BFing days. Still use it everyday. And my little snugabunny bouncy chair especially the vibrating option.
Could live without nursing covers, diaper genie, and swing.
Can't live without so far- the My Breast Friend pillow someone gifted me and the fancy rocker/recliner we bought for the nursery. Biggest waste of money so far is probably the swing. It put DD to sleep once and hasn't worked since. She HATES it. Fortunately we got it at a yard sale, so it was only $20.
Can't live without our Boppy and possibly Mamaroo. Also my mom got us a pretty changing table to keep downstairs and it has been an awesome storage place for everything on the first floor (dipes, washcloths, blankets, bibs, burp cloths, etc).
Waste of money... Hmmm... Bouncer. It's still in its box and we should take it back. We are covered between the infant car seat, RnP, Mamaroo, co-sleeper and PnP on places to safely put him to chill.
2 weeks ago I would have said the swing was worthless. He finally napped in it the other day and discovered its wonderfulness. Now he loves it.
I can't think of anything that we could live without so far. I guess the A&A blankets since we used the SwaddlePods and Woombie. With DD, we used the A&A blankets because we didn't know about the zipper swaddles.

can't live without: Soothies pacifier, rocking chair, super soft furry blankets, bouncer (I keep it in the bathroom so that I can momentarily sit her down to do my business... Otherwise, I'd be urinatinng on myself half the time)
to hell with: the swing. I would kick it and put it on craigslist, but I keep hoping that she'll magically fall in love with it.. >.> what can I say, I'm a dreamer.
edited for iPad spacing
Item(s) we can't live without: the rock n play is such a life saver. He sleeps so good in it and we take it to our parents house when we go visit them. Love that little thing. Also the Aden and anais swaddled blankets. He definitely sleeps great in them and they are adorable. He also really loves his changing pad/table. We always change him on it (because our apartment is only 700 square feet) and he is so happy and talks and smiles on it. It's his favorite place to be.
Item(s) that were a complete waste: basically the 10 other pacifiers that we have. He likes the MAM one maybe 25% of the time but screams and gags on the rest. He hates the swing most of the time as well.
Waste of money: pack n play. Neither of my kids liked or used it
Can't live without... The pnp (ds had been sleeping 6-7 hours in it!) And his swing. Although I will say he hated it until we turned the seat the other way, so now he rocks head to toe instead of side to side and he loves it. For me, I love my glider and boppy.
Things that are a waste for us... Can't think of much besides the hooded bath towels, they are definitely too thin to keep him warm. I returned a bunch of stuff after my showers because I had been told that we wouldn't need it.
You hate the puj tub?! That thing is a live saver for us, we give LO a bath every night in ours because he loves it so much. I also found it at target for $11, score.
