It'll probably be around 6 or 7 feet tall.

I like white lights. I think we use the LED ones, too.

Probably two or three weeks before Christmas.

Gradually, as they are collected and wrapped.

It's up now with lights on it. Today we hang ornaments.

The ones to family are out as I wrap. The ones for the girls are out after they are in bed when Santa comes.

What else goes on your tree besides ornaments and lights? I put tinsel around my tree. debating not using it this year....

When did/will you get your tree? I normally would be getting it up this weekend. But it is pretty busy so I think Monday I will try to get it up while DD is sleeping.

When do you put out the presents: gradually, all at once, while the kids are asleep on Christmas Eve? I normally put family presents out once I wrap them and DH and DD's xmas eve night after they are in bed. Not sure about this year.

Tell us about your favorite ornament or an ornament that is a heirloom or especially meaningful to you: this blue Christmas ball that has my name on it. I made it when I was a kid & it's all sparkly & pretty.

What else goes on your tree besides ornaments and lights? That's about it.

When do you put out the presents: gradually, all at once, while the kids are asleep on Christmas Eve? We do at night one DD is asleep.

Real tree, last year it was a plant, decorated piece of driftwood. I prefer to cut own or get one to plant, we just collected the driftwood on the beach. We bought the plant one year. We don't always have a traditional tree. I like small trees, cute and simple, very small actually, we will put a small one up on a small table this year. Tree goes in living room. Simple small white lights Decorations are random but simple and all seem to fit. Favourite ornament is one that I had loved ever since I can remember. It was my moms when she was little and she gave it to me because I admired it so much. It is a tiny angel holding a very old fashioned lantern. I don't know why I love this one, I just always have. Always different. Chocolate ornaments, candy canes, popcorn string, gingerbread cookies, depends what I feel like that year. Second or third week of December, it feels too soon, takes the special feeling away if it is up too far before Christmas. Presents go under gradually. Santa gifts are not wrapped and go under Christmas eve to be revealed Christmas morning. The order of Christmas morning goes: Stockings are first in bedroom and can play with stocking stuff until everyone is ready to go downstairs. When everyone is ready, go down to see Santa gifts. Eat breakfast, open gifts from each other. I love this order, it makes the gift giving last longer.

Real or artificial tree? Artificial, wishing I had the patience for a real tree. Sadly, they cause me to hate Christmas.
If real, do you cut your own? I've done real, and no - it was purchased. lol, that's hilarious.

How big is your tree? Ehm, too small. My star doesn't fit on the top in our house. We used to live in a high-ceiling'd apartment. I'm not sure on it's height.

In which room(s) do you display a tree? In our living room. We only have five rooms in our house.

Lights: white? Colorful? LED energy-saving? Three strands of white, but I would love three strands of colored in addition. I think I'll buy them for next year when the season is over.

"Decorator" tree or random ornament assortment? Random assortment, which is what I grew up with. If we ever have a larger house, I'd love to do a decorator type tree in like an entryway or a dining room.

Tell us about your favorite ornament or an ornament that is a heirloom or especially meaningful to you: I have a hand-painted, very expensive bulb that shows Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia.

What else goes on your tree besides ornaments and lights? Currently chocolate brown, copper, and gold bulbs, with accent bulbs, plus I have a few feathered doves tied in, and sprigs of gold flowers. I will be pinterest-searching for a good way to wrap a big ribbon to stick on top, and I have chocolate brown and gold ribbons that will stream down from it.

When did/will you get your tree? We put ours up yesterday - too early for me, but due to my work schedule, it's the only time.

Haven't gotten it yet but maybe it'll be ten feet? It varies.

This is our first year here but I think the living room.

Random. I am a big fan of a random assortment rather than a color scheme. I like ornaments that tell a story.

Tell us about your favorite ornament or an ornament that is a heirloom or especially meaningful to you: I found out I was pregnant the week we got our tree so I went and got an ornament with a baby penguin and adult penguin. Then I hung it on the tree while H was in the other room, poured him a glass of whiskey and waited. There were no other decorations on the tree since we'd just gotten it so he saw it right away.

What else goes on your tree besides ornaments and lights? Nothing since my cat would eat it. I would love to string cranberries some time. Oh, sometimes I do candy canes.

When did/will you get your tree?
Next weekend. We usually go a week later but since we're traveling this year, we want to be able to enjoy it.

Tell us about your favorite ornament or an ornament that is a heirloom or especially meaningful to you: there's one little knitted elf ornament with a bell that I love for some reason. I always used to hang it on the back bottom of tree, oddly enough.

What else goes on your tree besides ornaments and lights? Bow at the top. We did tinsel growing up but don't put that on the fake tree.

When did/will you get your tree? Got it down from the attic tonight. Will decorate it tomorrow.
