Any Massachusetts moms?

When it comes to getting money for maternity leave, did you only get it if you had a short term disability policy? I moved back here when I was 34 weeks pregnant, and now I'm being told my company won't pay out (I transferred from another state). I'm wondering if it's because of MA law? My employer has it in the benefit package that they will give you 55% of your pay. I was counting on that money!
