Croup - update at ER

Omg poor dd2:( Dd1 was sick with a terrible cough so of course dd2 got it and she sounds so terrible, like a raspy seal. We watched her for respitaory distress last night as per my rn sis. Hope tonight is better as last night was horrid. Anyone else been through croup?

Update:

She was retracting (her lungs pulling in) so we brought her to the children's hospital. Her O2 was low but back up. Waiting for steroids and hopefully home soon.

Dd1 had croup 6 times before she even turned 1. It sucks but try turning the shower on full heat and sit in the bathroom with lo with door shut. Steam will do wonders. If she starts having distress take her outside. Cold air helps with that. I actually put dd1 in her bouncer covered her in blankets and set her by the front door with it open. It helped her breathing so much.

Elijah had croup last year. He ended up needing a nebulizer treatment. Like nealbl said steam is very helpful. We used a vaporizer in his room at night.
