Gurgle/ gush noise

I already checked dr google and found squat so I'm seeing if anyone else is experiencing this before I call L&D . I just got out of the shower and the last three times I have bent over I hear this gurgle/ gushing noise. The noise comes from the location of under my boobs. I don't have to poop and I'm not leaking fluids. Is it just because everything is so squished?!

Re: Gurgle/ gush noise

  • Every time I took a deep breath in I would hear and feel it last night! DH was so freaked out because he could actually feel the squishing, rumbling noises. I kept clearing my throat but nothing helped until I changed positions.

  • @hercules03 well I was naked so I wasn't wearing a bra. But like right where your skin transitions from boob to belly.

  • I have had a weird noise that comes from that location - on my left side, under my boobs but above my stomach. It's only happened a couple times and it's so loud my husband can hear it. But I never figured out what it was, sorry :(.

  • I've been hearing the same thing, and think it's one of two things: air bubbles in the amniotic fluid, or air bubbles in my stomach and intestines (which start right there, since the babies have pushed everything up and back). It's been about a week since I've noticed the noise, and so I'm assuming it's not an indication of anything....
  • Maybe it's your stomach? It's up there pretty far by now.

  • I have had these noises in the same location a few times. I think it is normal. There may have even been a few other threads about something similar. :).
  • I have heard these noises too on lots of occasions lately. I figured it was probably gas bubbles or something.
  • Probably gas.

  • I had the same thing and freaked out cause I thought I had fluid in my lungs. it went away though.
  • Have it too-digestion noises is what I think it is!

Just curious, why would you call L&D about this?

It's the weekend and if you need to speak to a dr or nurse they just have you call L&D. I live in a small town.

  • I think she means why would the noise make you call L & D?

  • Are we being punked? Why would you call L&D about this? Do you just WANT to go? Then sure call, but this can't really be something you are worried about?
  • I've experienced the sound/feeling in my rib cage area. Yes, it's freaky but more entertainment. It's definitely a pregnancy thing but to me, doesn't quite warrant a call to the doctor. To each their own though.
  • I have been getting the same noise on my left side on and off for weeks now. I'm pretty sure it's digestion like others have said. I think it's pretty normal.

Yes, this is exactly what I meant. Unless it's painful, I don't get it.

It just really freaked me out and I wasn't sure what it was.

  • I get this in my lower belly all the time especially when I sit down to pee. Like popping noises. Sounds like my water should be breaking but never does. I highly doubt its anything to be concerned about

    My Charts since 2009

  • I get it too. I did occasionally before pregnancy. It's just air and stuff gurgling in your tummy because it can't go down quick enough. Mine does it a lot when I've just drank something and I take a deep breath.
  • I've been getting this!! Freaked me out the first few times! You're not alone
  • Likely just fluid in your stomach and upper intestines sloshing around, lovely effect of progesterone- slows stomach emptying
