Biophysical profile?

Who has had one of these and how many weeks were you?  I have had weekly NSTs since 32 weeks d/t AMA but not been given a BPP, I'm wondering what the criteria is and is it different at each OB?  At my 36 weeks appointment, they did an internal check and I am 2-3cm dilated, not too much effacing going on though.
TTC since 10/09 Me-43 DH-44 RE and testing 10/10-11/10, Recommending IVF 1/11 New RE AMA and DOR-DH low motility IVF #1.1 cancelled 3/11 due to poor response IVF #1.2 May 2011, one perfect 8-cell embryo, 3dt-BFN, IVF #2.1 Converted to IUI d/t poor response. New RE 9/2011. IVF 2.2 completed using HGH,EPP,DHEA, Q-10 and accupuncture. Transferred one 8-cell, grade one embryo on 10/19. BFP 10/31/11 Chemical pregancy on 11/2/11. Started stims for IVF #3, our final try, on 12-2-11. ET on 12/18. Transferred 3 Grade A embryos-BFFN Planning DE IVF, late March/early April- Donors ER expected to be 4/2-4/4. PAIF/SAIF welcome

    I've been having weekly BPPs since 32 weeks due to AMA and baby being 2+ weeks ahead. My BPP hasn't been combined with an NST, nor have they checked dilation. The u/s tech checks for baby's practice breathing and movements. She also looks at hb, placenta and cord insertion and fluid levels. Some weeks it takes 15 min if baby is quiet, this week we passed I'm 5 min. Criteria may very from practice to practice.

    Btw, I started dilating at 29 weeks w both previous pregnancies (I was not AMA then) and both pregnancies went full term. So if you are dilating, it may not indicate an early delivery.

    Thanks Ladies-I'm going to ask at my next appointment.  Sounds like they maybe do NSTs or Biophysical profiles, but don't do both unless there is a reason to investigate further?

    I had NST and BFP with my first pregnancy (28 yrs old) due to being overdue. 
    I had NST with my second (39 yrs) due to bring overdue. 
    My doc says she won't let me go over this time because I will be nearly 41 yrs at delivery so I don't expect them this time around.
