Pain when urinating

Sorry... This may be tmi.... But I have been harassing my drs and everyone keeps telling me this is "normal" but I wanted to see if I am alone...
I gave birth a week and a half ago vaginally. Everything has been going good except for being a little sore. Thanksgiving I woke up and it burned when I peed. Took Motrin and drank a lot of fluids and it got better. Yesterday was tolerable. Today is terrible. I can barely go, it hurts terribly when I do. Dr keeps saying its normal but I can't see how it can be. I'm literally ready to go to the ER tomorrow bc I'm so worried. Anyone else experience this??

    It sounds like a uti. Definitely insist on being seen.

    For me it was excruciating to pee. I had torn and the urine hitting the wound burned like hell. Squirting water on the area with a peri bottle as the urine comes out helps quite a bit.

    Me too! I was also worried. It seems to be normal. We just have to wait it out. Drinking tons of water seems to help me.

    I'm 4 weeks PP today and it still burns every once in a while when I pee.  Dr says it's normal because of how badly I tore.  It's not all the time and I still use the peri bottle to wash just to make sure.  I was worried that I may have torn my stitch at first but everything looks good.

    Glad to see I'm not alone! I'm going to the dr tomorrow.... Just to be on the safe side. Def not fun!

    Did you have a catheter in during labor? If so, it could have caused a UTI. I'm being treated for one right now.

    I feel your pain, literally! I haven't found anything that quite helps me yet because even the peri burns. I tried putting Vaseline and Desitin down there and icing it. I have been waiting out the pain, though I don't recommend it. I'm just stubborn.

    24 hours of icing, always rince with warm water after you pee, pat dry, use some numbing spray, Motrin then instead of ice do warm baths. This helps with the healing of the wound after delivery or at least it has helped me so far.

    It still burns when I pee but using the warm water rince helps unles of course you have uti...

    I have a UTI at the moment.  I don't get much warning symptoms then bam.  It hurts so bad for about 10 seconds after I pee that I want an epidural.  I've even been pumping and dumping just so I could take some Azo. 
    I had some awful tearing in front but it hasn't caused "terrible" pain when going potty.  Mainly just discomfort with the occasional random stings that feel as if a stitch got caught on something. It sounds like something else may be going on.
