UPDATE: 3 weeks old and already back in the hospital!

***UPDATE: Thanks ladies for your support! All tests and blood work continue to point to just a virus causing our baby's fever and rash and nothing major. We will receive one last dose of (precautionary) antibiotics at 4pm then we can all go home. The virus will just have to run its course and we can give her infant Tylenol to manage any fever.
This is not how I thought I'd be spending this weekend! Yes this hospital visit has been scary at times and tough watching her in pain. I'm just so thankful she is getting better and it is nothing major. Thank u again for your encouraging words and prayers!!****
Despite our best efforts to keep DD2 indoors and limit visitors, our sweet baby still got sick. We even skipped thanksgiving this year! Our toddler probably gave her a bug, sigh! She spiked a 102 degree fever Thursday evening so we rushed her to the ER. Being only 3 weeks, they admitted her immediately to run the normal tests and give her antibiotics. It was heartbreaking to hear her screaming while nurses/ doc did a lumbar puncture, put in a catheter, drew blood, chest X-ray, etc. I feel so helpless!!
Great news is that she has tested negative for pertussis, flu, menengitis and we can most likely go home tomorrow evening at the 48 hr mark if the fever stays away and she keeps passing these tests. Danielle is receiving another round of antibiotics now and is starting to perk up a bit. Thanks for letting me share this with you ladies!
