Cramps

I have had constant cramping for about an hour now below my belly button/uterus area. On a scale of 1 to 10, the cramping is a 2 or 3. It's mild, but definitely noticeable. I'm not sure if it is caused by chronic constipation or if its contraction or something else. I am going to drink some water and rest for a little bit. Obviously, if it doesn't calm down soon I am calling the dr. but any other suggestions or thoughts what it could be? I really am hoping to avoid an ER visit tonight. I had a scheduled c/s with my daughter and never experienced a contraction last pregnancy, not even a Braxton Hick, so I'm not sure what I'm feeling. I thought contractions lasted for a few seconds to a minute or so max and then stopped. This is a constant cramp. The pain is staying the same and not increasing, decreasing, or breaking.

Re: Cramps

  • I am obviously not a doctor but I think that fact that it is constant means it is not a contraction.  I am thinking constipation.  But call the doctor - you have nothing to lose by calling.  Cramping is scary, sorry you are going through this, good luck!

  • I am not sure what the answer is, but for a while yesterday I had a dull pain around my right side , it is gone today and it wasn't really painful, but it was consistent and noticeable. I hope it was constipation..

  • It could possibly be a cramp from your uterus growing and pushing on your abdominals. I'm not a doctor though. The fact that it's mild is good as far as I know, so I wouldn't be too concerned but definitely call your doctor if it doesn't let up. Have you tried lying down and relaxing? I get cramps often but they always go away if I lie down.

  • I had some cramping when I woke up this morning but they went away after drinking water and having something to eat. Hopefully putting your feet up and having water will help.
I agree it could also be constipation or stretching of your uterus.
If it doesn't go away or gets worse I'd call your doctor just to be safe.
    I hope it's nothing!
