Just got back from the ER with this diagnosis and they switched me from Zofran to Phenergan I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me about Hyperemesis I hate googling while pregnant always gets me more alarmed than I want to be
I went to the ER for fluids due to excessive vomiting 3 times before being diagnosed with HG. Got a home nurse and a zofran pump. Been on it for a month and been doing well. They have been working on weaning me off and moving to the oral meds. It has been rough and I still have nausea, but vomiting has been much better.
I'm really hoping that I get to be one of the lucky ones that it resolves around 19 weeks.
In the same boat. Zofran durning the day and phenegrane at night. Been in the hospital twice. Not fun! Phenegeane works best for me but does make me sleepy! Hope it works for you!
I have had it since 5 weeks (now 14 weeks & still going strong) I have been on Zofran, reglan, phenergan...get iv fluids every other day through a picc line and have home health nurse come once a week. They just started me on a new med Diclegis (which is the only category A med in pregnancy that I know of...the safest) and so far it has been amazing! I've been off work for 6 weeks and now I can probably go back bc the med is making me fee so much better. It's really expensive but worth every penny! I can actually eat again!
Yep my ob office REALLY "dropped the ball" (which is how the dr put it) on that one....i couldn't even get in to see a dr until I was 13 weeks even after calling several times a week, getting iv fluids in the office many times and 4 er visits. They even ordered my picc to be placed without seeing me first! The horrible nurses run the show in that office and I don't think they were passing along how sick I was. I lost over 30 lbs before anything was done! One of the nurses even had the nerve to ask me if I was sure that I didn't really just have a stomach virus...UNBELIEVABLE! Now I have weekly visits bc of my weight loss & they are trying to cover their asses. After this baby I won't EVER be going back to that office!
