Yes, they are different names and I pronounce them differently. I like Emilia (E-me-e-ah) best but know most people will pronounce the Amelia way more than not.

These are different names, I think. However, in many places people's accents will make them sound practically indistinguishable, especially when said quickly.
Also, in my family tree (five generations back), there is an Emilia/Amelia. Her name is spelled both ways depending on which document you are looking at. So to me, they can also be the same. But I believe I am in the minority.
Okay, I never pronounced these differently. To me, they are the same name, and sound the name. I guess I'm the odd one out though. I like the Amelia spelling.
