Postpartum Depression

Adjusting from pregnant to postpartum

Looking for a bit of advice...I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant and I've had a really rough time struggling with depression since about 18 weeks. My ob has me on Wellbutrin, but things still haven't been easy at all. Even that feels like an understatement. Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited for my little girl to get here. She's my first and I'm having a scheduled c/s on Dec 10. But the depression doesn't just go away because the baby is here. Anyone have any tips for making the transition from prepartum depression to postpartum a little bit easier?

  • What finally helped me was to see a counselor and meds. Also, I had to realize that my house and everything else around me doesn't have to be perfect all the time. It's hard, very hard.

I'm ten months post-partum and just started seeing my counselor about a month or so ago. She's awesome and has helped a lot. I finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.
