Weird question about DD's eyes....

Hi. Don't know where else to post this... DD2 is a 35 weeker with a 3 day NICU stay mainly under observation. She is now 10 weeks old. I have noticed that her eyes are not the same size. Left one is slightly larger BUT what freaks me out is that her eyes sometimes do not blink at the same time. As in the right eye closes fractionally faster than the left one. Dr. Google showed no results. Any insight?

  • Human beings are not symmetrical. I'm sure it's no big deal but you could ask the pedi about it.

  • Hmmmm... Never heard of this. I would def talk to the pedi about it. They may refer you to an optometrist if you haven't seen one already.

  • What part of the eye do you mean? If it's just the physical appearance of one eye looking more open, or bigger than that's what I would assume ok. But if the pupil or iris are not even than that may be cause for a trip to an ophthalmologist.
  • Not the iris. The size of the eye, but that doesn't bother me as much as the eye lids not closing at the same time.
