Suggest your minivan or?

I am expecting my 4th child and my 4 runner just will not cut it :( ... So I needs. Vehicle with more seating. I think a minivan may be my most affordable option (operating and insurance). What do you drive? Please I need suggestions or vehicles to stay away from.

  • We have a Toyota Sienna and love it. The 5 if us went on a 2 week road trip this summer and were very comfortable. We have an '06, but I've seen newer models and you can get a removable middle seat for the second row that stores in the back, potentially two tv screens (why?), and keyless ignition, etc. Ours works great without all that and we got it used for $16k I think? Anyway, love Toyota, we love going there for service, all of our Toyotas have lasted forever. Just my 2 cents. :-)

  • @martha919 thank you. We are looking at an older used van. New is just not in our budget :)

  • Lol--we couldn't buy a new one either! It was very tempting but uh...no. Haha. Hope you find what you're looking for!

  • We have the Dodge Grand Caravan and love it! It is the only minivan where all the back seats store into the floor so no taking out seats for big things. We tested all of them and I felt the most comfortable in this one and liked the way it handled. We also looked at larger SUV's but the 3rd rros were cramped and the storage behind the 3rd row was a joke compared to the minivans.

We have the 2013 Sienna and absolutely love it!  We got the AWD model that doesn't come with the middle seat in the second row.  We really wanted something that would be safer in the snow, so AWD it was.  I actually traded my Highlander in on the Sienna.  We packed 6 people (DH and I, 2 kids, and my ILs) for a 2 week vacation in it and every one was comfortable.  One of the best things about the minivan is the slidding doors though.  We looked at getting the Suburban, but getting 2 (potentially 3) kids buckled into carseats and having to worry about door space seemed like it was going to be more of a pain than I was willing to deal with.
