So, in 2 weeks I will be attending an event that my town does, where they basically recreate Bethlehem and the birth of Jesus. It is all outside, walking mostly though the woods. I am planning on bringing LO, but I don't know what the best way to bring her will be. Since its in the woods and there are a lot of people, I can't bring the stroller. I plan on using my boba, but I don't know how many layers to dress her in, or what type of layers. I have a little fleece jacket that we out her in when we leave the house and make sure she's covered with a blanket in her carseat, but she probably needs more than that, since the temp will probably be in the 20s-30s. The whole thing is about an hour and a half. Anyone have any experience in having their baby outside for a long period of time? Should I just decide to leave her with a babysitter instead of taking her? I would love to bring her but I don't want her to get sick from being in the cold.
Re: Bringing baby outside
Baby legs are a great under-layer in cold weather.
Eta: I think if you dress her warm enough she won't get sick. I think that getting sick from the cold weather is an old wives tale
We went to the Christmas parade last night. It was maybe 30 out. I put socks and long sleeve onesie under a fleece sleeper and a hat. Worn her. Put on MH coat and zipped us both in it. She stayed cozy for the 40 min parade.
