Pregnant after IF

Trusting that it's really working...

Hi, Everyone,
I've been lurking here a lot - introduced myself a few weeks ago.  I'm just curious how everyone copes with the "in between" time between ultrasounds and appts.  I'm 14 weeks along, but I'm still nervous that something will go wrong.  I just can't seem to trust in the process.  Any advice or thoughts about how you trust in the process would be greatly welcomed!

All Welcome!

Re: Trusting that it's really working...

  • I've got nothing. I try to stay busy and tell myself that there is absolutely nothing I can do or control which causes me a bit of fear. I am not nearly as far along and have had two losses... so I freak out a bit. I wish I could've been more helpful but I don't think it will ever go away. Once we are done worrying about pregnancy, we'll worry about daycare, dating, college, moving away from home, etc. We better find some good coping skills now!

  • It is so hard to let go and trust that all is well for me too, especially after having gone through 4 losses. I agree with PP to try to stay occupied to keep your mind off of it. For me, the beginning was agonizing, but each week gets a little better. In the beginning, I found that it helped to set little benchmarks to look forward to getting past (seeing gestational sac in utero, seeing heartbeat for 1st time, getting past the point where my m/c's had happened, getting past 1st tri, etc.). I still breathe a sigh of relief every time I go to the bathroom and there's no more blood (I spotted on and off until just a couple of weeks ago). And each u/s, I breathe a huge sigh of relief! Also, statistics are significantly in your favor once the HB is detected, so I tried to focus on that!

  • I bought a doppler and that has helped me tremendously. I listen to the heartbeat almost every night.
