Thanks everyone. I got through the day, with lots of wine. DS is really sick so it made it that much worse. Anxiety x1000!
XH did let me take DD for the night last night. She needed some 1 on 1 time since her brother has been sick and getting all of the attention. We had a great girls night! We went to dinner and Christmas shopping and then stayed up late watching movies.
I get them for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning this year so yeah, missing Thanksgiving is the trade off.

I know that this is a hard thing to do. But I really believe that alternating the holidays is the best thing for the children. I really do.
Can you imagine being a child of a blended family, especially when both parents live near each other. You not only have to go to a travel to another house for the holiday, but then more than likely have to travel to that parent's extended family? And that might include more than one holiday event?
Seriously, your child could end up going to 4 to 6 different parties (two on Christmas Eve and More on Christmas day)? How is that fair to the child? At least we can mitigate that to just the one parent's family adventures.
It would kill me to not be with Monkey, but I would rather have her only have to travel to her Grandmothers and be done with it, vs trying to do it all.
