We had Thanksgiving day at our house and my hubby wanted brunch, football snacks and a full thanksgiving dinner. By about 4 I was exhausted from cooking, DH swearing at the games and R was overtired so I took him upstairs to nap. He fell asleep on me but I successfully transferred him onto the bed. I texted DH that R would only sleep on me and he'd have to take over turkey basting and potato peeling and I stayed upstairs a took a nap too.
I threw out all the leftovers from the IL's thanksgiving meal because it was terrible tasting food X_X I feel bad now after writing it out !
We went to the IL's first and then my parents. We got blah leftovers from ILs, too. My mom's food was soooo much better. But we didn't get any leftovers because it was late and M was having a nuclear meltdown and we still had a 30 minute drive home, so we didn't take time to gather food. I texted my mom later and told her how sad I am that we only have crappy leftovers and that her dinner was so much better. Then I deleted the text in case DH somehow found it (he never looks at my phone, but still.) I'm considering finding a reason to go to my mom's today just to get leftovers.
We went to MIL's side of the family in Manhattan this year. They asked me to bake cookies, but I said I couldn't because all my baking supplies were packed for our upcoming move. They're not. I just don't feel like baking for them. If we were going to FIL's or my family, I would've baked cookies no problem.
E has had a cold and been off her solids. Eventually to get her to eat I bought a packet of Ella's food pouches and let her squirt/suck it in her mouth. All I did was scald the tube.
Bingo! It may look terrible to see a child squirting the pouch into her mouth but it worked.
One of my ILs, whom I find to be really arrogant and opinionated, slept during most of our Thanksgiving festivities because he wasn't feeling well. Although I was annoyed that he showed up in the first place with his germs, it was nice not to have to hear him run his mouth!
I really wanted to have Thanksgiving at my house. J sleeps better at home and I wanted my mom to help me set up my sewing machine. But I didn't want to invite my inlaws so we traveled for 2 hours to stay with my parents and deal with J sleeping for a max of 2 hours at a time.

I thought they were supposed to do this? lol MH's cousin's little girl eats from the pouch...but she's older.

Me too?? I also can't figure out what 'scald the tube' means?

I'm assuming that meant to heat it up, but I don't think you need to do that. But I'm also confused about the looking awful part- I think that's how they are meant to be eaten? With a smaller baby, I know you can just squirt part of it into a bowl so it's not wasted, but I gave them to DD1 all the time starting around age 2 because the novelty of it helped get fruit and veggie servings into her!
I think that the first this, first that outfits are such a racket for the baby clothing companies but I love them so much. W looked adorable in his Halloween and Thanksgiving ones and I'm sure the Christmas one will be adorable as well. I'm justifying them by telling myself that he'll wear them again and he will, darn it!
My FFFC is that my H is a dumbass. I put two garbage bags marked "Donations" outside our back door on the right side of our steps. We keep our garbage on the far left beside the recycling. DH came home from work on Tuesday and tells me that he dropped the three bags off at the shelter. I couldn't figure out where he got a third bag until I went to throw out the Diaper Genie poop-tube in the garbage bag full of other poop-tubes. H dropped off a huge bag of dirty diapers!

Nope it's to kill the germs (or atleast some) from the several people that will have held that packet.
I must be in the minority but I dislike seeing them suck from the pouch when it comes to infants. The novelty of it definitely helped though because she wouldn't eat from the spoon or even if I loaded the spoon for her to feed herself which usually works.
The problem I have for it in infants is that you usually place it in the bowl and feed from there. To onlookers, not doing that looks as if I skipped a step because I was too lazy to put it in the bowl. They would side eye me badly for that here. Of course, this is how the older children eat them so no issue there but not a 6 month old.
Edit: argh the quotes are all over and I wanted to add a few extra bits.
I counted down to nap time and thn bed time today. It was just one of those days where no matter what I did she wasn't happy. Thank goodness she is asleep.

I was in the same boat today. I joked that we better see a tooth tomorrow for all this fuss!

That was my thought too. Except still no teeth. *sigh* hopefully today goes better for both of us!
