How soon after D&C

This might be more appropriate for TTCAL but I know some of you have had some losses. Anyway my OB said we are benched for three cycles. I contacted my RE's office, they said after my first cycle we can resume the clomid response testing, HSG etc that we were going to do when I got my surprise BFP that just ended in a loss. Then after that cycle we are given the green light to TTC again, monitored of course. So I am a little torn, listen to my RE or my OB?

Met with RE October 2013, we've got a plan!
Surprise BFP on "break cycle" 10/12/13. EDD 6/17/14.
MMC discovered 11/25/13 at 10 weeks. D&C 11/27/13.
BFP 2/8/14 Beta#1: 176, Prog 18! Beta#2:335, Prog, 19.5!

    My situation was a little different, our first BFP was an ectopic- we were benched for three cycles, but IVF was only option.i think had we had option for cloned and all through on we would have done it, we were so hurt and desperate to move on. That being said, the forced break helped me a little and I think I was so devastated by ectopic first try out it wouldn't have taken had we gone any sooner. Probably doesn't help- this is one of those things only you can decide what is best for you, but sharing might help you think of something maybe you didn't before. Sorry for your loss. Hopefully good things to come!!!

    I went back to my OB 6 weeks after my D&E & got an exam. He gave us the green light at that point but we still waited a little longer b/c I still had intermittent bleeding. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

    We only had to sit out one cycle after my D&C. Who performed your surgery?  I assume it was probably your OB? I would probably ask for details on why to wait 3 cycles when you have a follow up appoitment with your OB and take it from there.

    Thanks ladies, my OB did my surgery. She is the one who referred me to the RE in the first place so I know she trusts his judgment. I just feel, kind of silly, like I don't want to offend her for following the RE's advice and not hers

    My OB also suggested waiting 3 cycles, mainly because with the D&C they really take a lot, if not all of uterine lining and it needs time to build back up. In all honesty, 1-2 cycles would be more than enough time... It's really just a matter of when YOU are comfortable with trying again, you know your body better than any doctor. Give yourself time to heal, in all aspects and you'll know when you're ready. Sending you big big hugs!

    I had a D&C at 8wks and my RE said to sit out one cycle, then we had the green light.

    Two DDs 10/08 and 08/10, no primary IF
    TTC #3 since 10/2011 - dx unexplained/weak ovulation
     3 BFN clomid + TI cycles, 5 BFN clomid/gonal f IUIs, 1 mmc IUI
    2/19/2014 IVF #1 Unexpected low E2 (oversuppressed) -> increased to max doses = 3 or 4 follicles, converting to IUI
    BFFP Saw 1 beautiful heartbeat at 6w6d, follow up u/s at 9w showed mmc. Eff this.
    NTNP 5/2014-9/2014, OPKs and TI 10/2014 - 1/2015. 
    RPL testing all normal, AFC, AMH, and FSH all normal. 
    IVF 1.2 1/22/2014 natural cycle start, AFC 28, 300 gonal f/150menopur. 
    ER 2/3/15 14R 8M 3F w/ICSI Day 5 transfer on 2/8/15 of one "Grade A+" blast and have TWO frosties!

    I know what you mean about feeling weird not following a doctor's advice. My OB benched me for luteal phase issues for several cycles but I stopped TTA after a while because I couldn't take it anymore.  And then when I had my next appointment with her, I made sure to print my charts without BD and pregnancy test info because I felt ashamed that I was disobedient.  Since you have your REs blessing after one cycle, I would go for it unless your OB says there was something about your D&C in particular that would require more healing time.
