TTC: Lovenox and aspirin dosage?

Hi ladies--

I am new to the boards. My husband and I have recently started TTC. I have Factor V Leiden and Antiphospholipid antibody syndrome blood clotting disorders as well as a history of blood clot in my right leg in 2009. My OB doctor agreed to put me on Lovenox prophylactically before conception (as the coumadin I was on is known to cause problems with baby) and prescribed 30 mg daily. He then would like me to begin a full 325 mg aspirin as soon as I get a positive pregnancy test. Have any of you other ladies with blood clotting disorders had similar dosages prescribed? It seems like I frequently see Lovenox 40 mg daily prescribed or higher, and then a baby aspirin instead of a full aspirin. I am thinking about talking to my OB about this but don't want to sound like a know-it-all! I am an RN but I want to trust this doctor's knowledge because I do know he is well known as a great MD!     I think you should see a mfm (high risk dr) .I think that dose of aspirin is fine while trying to conceive but u should not take that high of a dose while pregnant. I think the highest u can take while pregnant is 81mg. I have compound heterozygous mthfr. No person history of clots. I took baby aspirin while ttc. Once I got pregnant I got switched to lovenox 30mg daily. My mfm said because of how little I am he put me on the 30. Now that I am in the 3rd tri and also on bed rest I got put on 40.

    I work in ob and most ladies with a history like yours take a higher dose of lovenox and take it 2 Times daily. Some will also take a baby aspirin along with it, just depends on history and your dr. Like I said see a mfm they are better at dealing with pregnancy and clotting disorders.

    I have had two mc this past year. I found out I was pregnant again last week. My RE put me on baby aspirin every other day and two shots of lovenox everyday (morning 40mg and evening 30mg). This is my first experience with anything like this. Good luck <3

    I have a history of two PEs with deep thromboemboli in each leg (2008). I'm also hetero for MTHFR. I've now had two healthy pregnancies, both overseen by an MFM. I don't take anything except my daily baby aspirin, while TTC, but I do 40mg daily of Lovenox as soon as I get my positive. Good luck to you!

    Heterozygous Factor V, history of pulmonary embolism (right lung) in October 2011.  I am pregnant with twins (14 weeks) and take 40 mg of lovenox/day.  Doc says I will switch to another blood thinner closer to delivery, but for now this is what we feel safe using.
