Maternity jeans suck

Anyone else?

They fit weird. and so do my cords   I tried them on in the store and they were fine.  So I bought them a couple of months ago when I first went maternty clothes shopping.

Okay so whenever I put them on now, at first they are perfectly fine.  But if I am standing up or walking around they get all weird on me.  Like my butt is falling down and the crotch of the pants kind of head south too.  So I am constantly hikiing them up.  The part of the pants where my legs and hip meet are a little baggy.   I've put the Bella Band on to help, but that only covers my stomache, it does nothing for my butt or crotch.   I even tried folding the panel down, but that didn;t help either.

I can't return them because.  I don't have the receipt anymore and Motherhood has a No return policy (only exchange after 10 days).

They are fine when I'm sitting.  I am hopin that I grow into them when my belly gets bigger and they don't keep feeling like they are falling down on me.

I keep telling myself I'll only be in these jeans for a few more months (I hope to be one of the lucky ones that gets to wear her normal jeans not too long after the baby comes).

I'll see what happens.  I really do not want to go out and buy more jeans if I'm only gonna wear them temporarily.  So I'm gonna give it a few more weeks.

Re: Maternity jeans suck

  • I would try some other kinds.  I have the Gap long and lean jeans and I LOVE them!

  • My only advice is to buy Motherhood or Mimi Maternity clothes from Macy's.  You can actually return them if you don't like them.  Have you tried the secret fit?  Those fit me really well.

Yup those are the kind I got.

  • I have the same problem with my Motherhood jeans. I wear a tight tank on top and then they don't fall down half as much.  Actually, i am just grateful they still fit at 31 weeks.

Hmmm maybe I'll try that.   I hate to complain about something so frivolous as this, considering how long it took to get pg.  I'm sure once the baby is here, I'll complain about how much I'm bleeding and about my boobies killing me

  • The best pair of maternity jeans I own came from Kohls. I love them. Still wearing them!
  • I never really got on with any maternity jeans I tried. They all seemed great in the fitting room and then after about 15 minutes on it was clear they fit all wrong. I think it's a consipracy...
  • The only maternity jeans that I've found bearable to to wear longer than a few hours are from Gap and one pair from Old Navy.  The gap ones are by far my favorite.  I have a pair of Liz Lange ones that fit but the crotch area is all saggy.  It's weird.

  • Mine do that as well and as silly as this may sound I try to pull them up (if they are the over the belly kind) as far as I can and I tuck it under my bra.  I usually have a spnadex/cotton tank top on as well so i try to get it under the elastic part of that and my bra and that usually keeps them up pretty well.  Old Navy has good real waist maternity jeans that actually button and they dont slide down at all.

  • I have Motherhood Maternity jeans that fit exactly the same way.  I tried to dry them on high to make them shrink and they fit for like the first half hour and then get all baggy and stretched out.  I'm also hoping I'll fit into them when I get bigger!
