Re: CPW: Hosting Thanksgiving

  • Lol okay I know it's weird to be a SS but I guess I am. I've made a major component of the meal for about four years in a row now. Where I live there's this big traditional dish called stuffed ham and it takes a ridiculously long time to make and is very labor intensive.

So while I don't cook the whole meal I've contributed a big portion for about four years.

Makes sense to be an SS for that ;)

This will be my second year hosting Thanksgiving. I'm much less worried about it than last year.

  • I make a turkey and stuffing every year because there's nothing like leftovers after Thanksgiving, but I've only hosted for my family once. I'd love to host again, but my aunts are a little possessive about their holidays. haha

  • I hosted a thanksgiving once at my old house. I cooked the turkey (my first ever time cooking a turkey) & the rolls. Maybe some cream cheese corn too. Along with cheesecake and pumpkin pies. Everybody else brought a side or two. It was mostly relatives from my mom's side of the family, but I think there ended up being about 30 people there. It was a good time. Especially since my mom's family doesn't gtg for thanksgiving typically. There's too many of them to coordinate & most go with their own little sectors.

    BFP#4 3/17/14 - rainbow Baby BOY arrived 11/10/14 !!
