Random: How do you feel about crop tops & pregnancy ?

I just saw a fb post where an aquaintance wore a crop top to her baby shower. She's quite a hippy and looks super cute

but I'd never wear a crop top normally, and definitely not when I'm pg

edit: I should mention I did wear a bikini a few times to the beach, but a crop top while out and about is just NMS...

Not a fan. I think pregnant bellies are beautiful, but it looks a little trashy IMO when it's all hanging out in public.

Yeah, I would never be caught wearing one in public (or in private for that matter!) I think it can be cute to show your belly in some pics, but not in public! There has to be a certain style to the picture for it to work.

The only time I have ever seen someone do this was at a Grateful Dead concert on a gross hot day in the middle of July. Considering the environment, it didn't bother me. I'm pretty positive maternity crop tops are extremely rare.

It's not my style in general so while pregnant it's a no brainer for me. If it's your normal style I wouldn't side eye it---well I would for shower attire, that does seem like more a nicer clothing occasion to me. I wear my bikini while pregnant, I only swim like once or twice I was so not buying a maternity suit.

I actually just pinned a cute maternity look with a crop top on top of a maternity tank. I'm totally into layering like that but I would be mortified to have strangers see my bare baby belly!
