My son is 5 months old, and I am clipping his nails every few days, but he still continues to scratch his face up, especially at night. He has pretty much outgrown the newborn mittens. I haven't seen any bigger ones, and I was just wondering what other people are doing to help keep their kids from scratching themselves. I might just have to sew a couple bigger pair of light mittens.
We've never used mittens. When he was first born he scratched himself a lot more. Now it's less often. I figure babies have lived for hundred and hundreds of years without wearing mittens and did just fine. How else are they supposed to learn not to scratch themselves?
Re: Scratching
I file and cut every other day. My LO has always loved his hands, and even more now that he is teething so mittens wouldn't work for him.
