Thoughts on initials (Yes, I'm bored).

Wednesday before Thanksgiving and I don't feel like being productive at work. Hey-o! Is it weird to have all 3 initials the same letter? Like, for instance, AAA? Since I've subconsciously convinced myself it's a girl, I'm totally stuck on the name Amelia. And I want to use my mom's name Ann as the middle. And our stupid last name starts with A. That A already messed up my desire to name a son Benton (great-grandfather) Robert (dad), because I'm definitely not giving my child the initials BRA. Is it too late to change back to my maiden name? It's cooler.

  • What about Emilia instead? That's one of my top picks right now.

  • I love the name Amelia and see no problem with AAA as initials.
Besides, how often does someone just have to write their initials?!
  • PS I love Benton! It might be too close to my brother (Benjamin) and our good friends new baby Bentley. :/

I'm bored too. Re-watching the Tudors for like the third time.

  • I don't think AAA is bad at all.

  • I prefer Emilia to Amelia, personally.  They're kind of the same name but just different enough that I like the sound of the E.

  • I love the name Amelia! I think AAA is fine. I love alliteration in names, but I know a lot of people don't.

  • It's better she's AAA and not AA! ;)

I actually didnt name my daughter Olivia because if I had her initials would have been OMG and that's just not nice. I'm hyperaware of initials since my friends joke that I got married and became a hag... Heather A*** Giff******. :/ whomp whomp.

  • I like AAA! Also, I had a client named Emilia who was a PITA so I personally much prefer the A spelling. :)

  • I don't think AAA is bad. Some initials certainly can be. I use my initials all day at work as it's the way we identify ourselves here, so I'm super sensitive to initials as well. Might be a problem if you're wanting to monogram things, but I don't think it's bad for any other reason.

  • Printing out all of this AAA support to show my husband! Maybe I'm just thinking about initials a lot, because like @ajsweeton, I use mine all the time at work. And I actually have to use all three, because apparently I was confusing people by writing NA next to everything. I like Emilia, too, but my husband poo-pooed it for some reason.

  • My moms initials are DAD which is kind of funny. I say stick to a name you love regardless of the initials. :)
  • Hell- you could be my cousin with ASS as your initials. Andrew Scott S-last name.

  • I agree with PPs.  Initials matter, but AAA isn't bad.

For example... COW is a bad bad bad set of initials....

  • My dad wanted to name me Amy Sue (and our last name started with S). My mom vetoed that pretty quickly and I ended up being Amy Noelle  ... (ANS) ... not much better. Now I'm ANT.

I really like Amelia but we are great friends with a couple who just had a daughter and named her Amelia.
  • DH's initials are JAP and he seems ok after all these years.... I wanted to name DS after my dad Patrick but I just couldn't give him the initials PP , lol!!!!

  • I think AAA is fine. I do prefer Emelia to Amelia though.
I was careful Not to give DS a middle name that started with N, he would've been MNM.

  • Didn't really think about it for my kid but growing up my initials were LAW now I'm LAD lol! But even in my roll as a nurse I only ever use first and last initials... Middle ones are so rarely used I wouldn't worry unless it was offensive I suppose!
