HOW THE F (Not 2IF-R)

How the freaking balls do you make deviled eggs?! Its got to be ridiculously easy, so why cant I figure this out?!?!?! lol... We normally go to our families houses for the holidays, so I've never had to cook. We are stationed in a new state this year, so its all up to me... YIKES! Does anyone feel like sharing a recipe with me?!

On a side note: please say a little prayer that I don't give my family food poisoning and kill us all. Lol.

  • Here's a good recipe.  I would skip the vinegar, though.  And, I usually use yellow mustard, but I'm boring like that.

  • I too would skip the vinegar and use yellow mustard instead of dijon.  The yellow mustard has more of a kick, and it has vinegar in it, so it's kind of like two birds with one stone.

    Haha :P I will!
  • You know, I've never ever looked at a recipe for deviled eggs before. They try to make em all fancy and stuff! I just did what my mom did and took a spoon and whatever was in the fridge!

My girls love my deviled eggs though. Here's what I do:

    Boil dem eggs
    Cool dem eggs
Try not to slice open any fingers with the amazingly sharp feeling egg shells
Try not to say anything inappropriate when you careful deal with said sharp shells and inadvertently rip apart the egg
Drop 3/4 of the yolks from the eggs into a bowl
Grab a fork and release some frustration by smooshing all the yolk into teeny tiny bits
Grab a big spoon and a jar of mayo - scoop out some mayo enjoy the plopping noise it makes as it hits the bowl!
Grab the bottle of mustard from the fridge - give it a good squeeze into the bowl
Grab pickle relish (not nasty vinegar, not apples, not celery and certainly not horseradish... cause it's just gross) and pour some of the pickle relish liquid out of the jar into the fun bowl
    Now, add a little pepper
Now, stir it up and fill one of the egg halves with the mixture, take it to your husband and tell him that his job is to taste test and see if it needs to be more tart (add mustard) more sweet (add relish) more creamy (more mayo) more salty... well, you get the idea :)

That's how I make them anyway! Basically, I make them the way I like them and figure if no one else likes them then it's just more for me!!!

  • I don't follow a recipe but I should because I love deviled eggs. I just halve the eggs, mix the yolks with mayo, pepper, and dried dill to taste, then scoop the mix into the eggs. My grandma adds a sliced green olive and paprika to the top, which is awesome.
