Help help help! Sleep troubles

I think many of us are going through this at the moment, and I've been putting it down to teething, but I'm looking for any other ideas or suggestions. I know T is teething something awful at the moment. Our bedtime routine is normal - supper, bath, then I nurse her to sleep then put her in her crib. The last few evenings she's woken up half an hour to an hour after going down, crying with pain, but then easily soothed. She'll go back to sleep quickly if one of us is holding her, and sometimes we can put her back to bed, but other times she just won't settle for hours. We give her paracetamol or ibuprofen before bed, also rub numbing stuff on her gums. Is it another part of teething that we must just ride out, or is there something else that could be causing this? Help!

  • No advice just empathy. Ds is the same way. He has lost his mind. He keeps waking and won't settle. Hope it gets better.

  • Went through this couple weeks ago.  It's exhausting and frustrating and makes me paranoid that I was missing something.  After a couple weeks, he stopped and I saw that a molar popped through.  Teething is such a b*tch!!  I hope it passes by soon for you!

  • Sounds like you are doing everything you can! Was she sleeping through the night before this? On the nights when nothing else works, I put LO down in her swing and it's the only way to get her to go back to sleep. We've been in a rough patch for awhile, and I'm having a rough time telling when it's due to teething or when it's just that I need to do some sleep training.

  • Thanks everyone - helps to know we aren't the only ones. I can see a canine under the top gum, and I can feel bumps all the way along both top gums, so I can only think she's pushing through a million teeth at once.

She did sleep through the night before, so hopefully it's "just a phase" and we'll get out of it in the end!
