I don't celebrate Hannukah but used to love reading this book to my first graders around Yom Kippur, Rosh Hashana, Hannukah and Passover - a great explanation of the history and traditions for little ones!
For Thanksgiving:
What's your schedule look like for tomorrow? My parents and in-laws live in the same town(15 minutes from us) because we were high school sweethearts so we have it awesome for holidays. DH plays flag football in the morning. I'll head to my parents to have breakfast and watch the parade. Then he'll come over to shower. We will head to his parents house for dinner around 1pm and spend the remainder of the day there.
What's cooking in your kitchen? Making corn bread and cinnamon butter to bring to the in-laws. Also cooked up some praline pecans for snacking at my Mom's. I'm happy that I can leave most of the cooking to everyone else!
How are you handling naps? Good question! G is on a 2 nap schedule. I'm thinking she'll take a morning nap at my mom's and afternoon nap at my in-laws, but if the morning nap doesn't seem to be going well we will consolidate to one nap mid-day at my in-laws.
What's your schedule looking like for tomorrow? I am not doing anything really. DH is on call so we pushed his family's meal to Friday evening and my family's until Saturday. We are going to go down the road to DH's coworker's house and eat with them. DH's request is that I make a tres leches cake to take so I'll be doing that tonight.
What's cooking in your kitchen? MIL and her mother will be cooking at my SIL's Friday for supper. We will have turkey, dressing, potatoes of some sort, green bean casserole, maybe a corn casserole, salad I'm sure, rolls, and any other little things I'm forgetting. SIL is in charge of desserts so I may call her later and help out with that. Probably something along the lines of pumpkin and pecan pies.
And the biggest question - how are you handling nap times? Usually when we're out and about or at someone's house, naps go out the window, which is fine because H will generally sleep really well at night. I'll be taking the PnP and when he just gets super fussy, I'll lay him down and let him sleep. I don't try to stick to a schedule in situations like this, I just follow his sleepy lead.

2. No one! The benefit to not having plans. My aunt said she'd bring over some food from a nearby deli.
3. I just hope they take two good naps. DS1 is in the midst of a regression right now.

What's your schedule looking like for tomorrow? We are staying local this year and heading over to DH's aunt's around 1:30.
What's cooking in your kitchen? I was asked to bring dessert, so I'm making pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.
And the biggest question - how are you handling nap times? DS will get in his morning nap, which is usually a good 2 hours and then I'm going to try and not worry too much about his afternoon nap. He's survived without it before. He might sleep on the ride to lunch, which would be enough. I think he'll be so occupied with a house full of cousins that he will be fine. Or maybe we'll just push his morning nap until as late as possible.
We are hosting T'giving for the very first time. (We used to travel 3+hrs to ILs, but they moved out here last week and it's easiest to have it at our home.) We're doing T''giving lunch b/c it works best with M's schedule, and ILs want to drive home before it gets dark (they're still not familiar with the roads so it's easier to do that in daylight).
So, bird is going into the oven at 9am. MIL/FIL/SIL and my cousin will arrive btw 11:45-12noon. Hope to start eating before 1pm. Assuming everyone will leave by 3:30-4pm
What's cooking in your kitchen?
Turkey, gravy, and Brussels sprouts.
MIL is making stuffing and pie. SIL is making corn bread and sweet potato.
And the biggest question - how are you handling nap times?
Should work out fine since we're staying home. M will wake up around 11'ish from his 1st nap. We'll have T'giving lunch. Then he goes down for his 2nd nap around 2:30-3pm.

What's cooking in your kitchen? Nothing. We are in charge of getting the booze this year. \:D/
And the biggest question - how are you handling nap times? DS will get in his morning nap, and in the car when we travel. MIL has a PnP so if he's knocked out by then, we'll put him in that. He never sleeps in the one we have here but there's a first time for everything
We are having a very small thanksgiving with just DH and me and the kids. I didn't want to drive 2 hours with a newborn and stay over at my parents' house this year.
So I'm cooking everything, but keeping it simple- roasted turkey breast, mashed potatoes, dressing, green beans, cranberry sauce and cornbread. My friend gifted me a pumpkin pie, so that's extra easy. I made the cornbread and cranberries today.
Naps shouldn't be a problem, since we're at home . hopefully we will get some sleep tonight too.
For Hannukah, we don't celebrate. However, we had dinner tonight with Jewish friends as they dropped of their dogs off to go celebrate out of town for thanksgiving and Hannukah. We joked that since their dogs are Jewish, we would be sure to help them celebrate with long walks and extra treats!
We are eating at our house. It is pretty low key. We do the usual turkey, ham, potatoes, etc. my mom and I split the list, so the cooking is pretty low key. my favorite dish is an old family recipie of crumbled ritz crackers with melted butter dumped over peas, carrots and cauliflower. An excellent way to make the only healthy part of the meal harden your arteries!
We are eating at 3 so that sweet baby J can get her nap before all the chaos.
Happy thanksgiving, ladies! We all have much to celebrate!
