Convertible car seat for TALL kids

So I want to buy a convertible seat pretty soon for #3. I need something with a tall shell that can RF as long as possible. My kids are off the charts tall from about 2 on. What is my best option?

Re: Convertible car seat for TALL kids

  • Graco mysize/size4me/headwise (same shell, different trim levels or something, not positive the difference) is currently the tallest-shelled convertible on the market. My friend just bought one and Julia, who outgrew a radian FF over two years ago, would still fit in it (just barely).

Next tallest (not sure if they're in shell height order here):
    Chicco Nextfit
    Clek Foonf
    Evenflo Sureride

Avoid Britax and Recaro as they have shorter shells and far less leg room, both of which lead to turning earlier.

  • I'm looking at the evenflo sureride right now for a taller carseat for DD. I've seen it anywhere from $80-$100 so it's pretty reasonably priced and I think the height limit RF is 40inches.

  • I second the Graco MySize. DD1 was almost 52" when we bought it last January, and she just barely still fit in the harness (sitting in our living room anyway). DD2 is rfing in it at 41" with room to grow.
