Exersaucer question

I can't believe how much DD is growing! When we first set up the exersaucer she basically dangled in the seat. She is now tall enough that she can stand flat footed on the bottom. At this point am I supposed to raise it up so that she is on her toes not flat on her feet? I feel like I read that somewhere but can't remember for sure. TIA.

Re: Exersaucer question

  • We just did that today for that reason. After reading the brochure we probably should have done it awhile ago, oops!

  • Does this apply for jumpers too?

  • @kellenhi21 it does for mine! There's a little picture on my jumper that shows their tippy toes touching the floor as the proper height. Flat footed and not touching at all were no-nos. hope that makes sense! It does in my head ;)

  • Yep, my mom's jumper has a little picture that shows when they are flat footed to raise it. We've already raised it once and will probably have to do it again soon. I can't believe how big she's getting!!!

Hmmm I did not know this, TY!

  • 3rd kid in an exersaucer and didn't remember that. Ooops. Just raised mine.
  • Now I just wish daycare knew this ... but I suppose it's difficult with all different sized babies around.

Anybody know *why* this is recommended?  I get it for the jumperoos, but I don't see what the deal is for the exersaucers ...

My guess is that their joints aren't ready to take on that much weight yet, it's better that they get support from the seat than their feet/ankles. I'm just guessing. Once they are pulling themselves into standing position my guess is its fine for them to be on their flat feet in the exersaucer.
