I buy Old Fashioned Oats and cook it on the stove with organic milk, then I add Cinnamon/Raisin peanut butter. The brand is Peanut Butter & Co. and is all natural. It's his favorite breakfast and keeps him full for hours.
Old fashioned oatmeal with soymilk for a bit of sweetness. If it comes out a bit dry the next day then I add a bit of WCM. While it's cooking, I'll add bits of apples, berries, or dried fruit.
DD likes to share my bowl of old-fashioned oats. I sometimes stir a little applesauce into DD's to cool it off. I eat oatmeal almost every morning and basically just use whatever's around. I've even added pumpkin puree with cinnamon and maple syrup--it's yummy.
I always soak my oats overnight - either old-fashioned or steel cut, then simmer with some almond milk in the AM and add either chia or flax and a drizzle of honey.
Quick oats or old fashioned oats. I don't do oatmeal leftovers. I just make it each morning with milk and cook in the microwave. I add banana, walnuts, and honey in mine and just honey into the kids'. If they liked banana I would add it into theirs too.
Re: oatmeal
JoNi2010 : so you eat oatmeal leftovers? tell me about this... how much do you make? how long does it last? do you reheat in microwave?
might save me some time (and dishwashing!) to make more at once than every day...
