Any other milk/soy allergy kiddos failure to thrive? She is on a higher calorie diet and seems to be eating plenty. Pedi has no clue, he also didn't think she needed to see an allergist though so I have little faith in him now
My dd is 8 months and 13lbs. She was 12lbs 9 at 6 months and dropped a month later to 12lbs 6pz. She gained 9oz back in one week two weeks ago but nothing since again. We have a GI and nutritionist consult. I'm setting it up today so hopefully it is soon
Re: Milk/soy allergy and failure to thrive
My LO is 8 months and since I get his naked weight in the morning on a rented baby scale I have noticed that he "gains 2oz and loses 1oz". Yesterday he weighed in at 13lbs11oz and today he weighed in at 13lbs10oz so I am half expecting him to be 13lbs12oz tomorrow though I know it isn't exactly gain 2, lose 1. (He was 12lbs2oz at 6mo and dropped to 12lbs0oz a week later)
I still nurse at night and I try to either pump and bottle feed or do weighted feedings on the days that I'm checking his intake levels. When we first started tracking, he was only eating 15-17 oz per day -- now he is up to 19-22+oz on the days I check. I have had to start feeding him by the clock (no more than 3 hours apart) since he wasn't eating enough feeding on demand.
I found ds wasn't wanting to eat the purees because they were too thin for him and he didn't like them mixed with cereal (don't blame him there) so I started dumping the contents into a fine mesh strainer over a bowl to drain the liquid out. I'd spoon feed him the dryer purees and then pour the liquid into his learner cup for him to drink after the puree. (I thought about trying BLW with him but he rarely will put toys and other items in his mouth and he won't hold or pickup food)
FWIW, he had a hard time gaining weight as a newborn while on the milk based formula and started gaining when I switched him to the soy formula (for supplementing breastfeeding) and then after a few months it started to seem like he wasn't tolerating the soy formula that well either so we tried Nutramigen for a couple days but he reacted to that. Now he is on Neocate and breastmilk (I do Gluten/milk/soy free diet as much as possible) and he finally has an appetite again.

Yours doesn't have to be a sad story
She had been tested for celiac, thyroid and liver problems previously and everything was fine. The endo tested her bone she, vitamin levels to check for absorbing, and rechecked her thyroid. Everything came back normal.
She has no difficulty with poopinh/vomitting. Loves good and eating
We went to the nutritionist. She eats 23-24oz of nutramigen a day. She eats a total of 800-1050 calories depending on the day and only needs 600 or 650 I think.
They are starting to think she is just tiny. Last week she was up to 13 lbs 8 oz. but was just 13lbs 2oz for almost 3 weeks straight.
Her 9 month is Friday and pedi might refer to GI just to make sure everything is fine
