Thankful

Last year, this thread was a big hit. I figured we should post it early this year because the board will probably be dead slow on Thanksgiving.

What are you most thankful for this Thanksgiving?  (Canada ladies please post even though it's not Thanksgiving for you!)

    I am most thankful for my husband's happiness this Thanksgiving.  I think he has always struggled with undiagnosed depression, he's been up and down for years, and he refuses to see a doctor. The up times are so happy and wonderful, they remind me of why I fell in love with him.  The down times strain our relationship and make me doubt my choice to be with him.  When we decided to move back to CT to be with our families, I worried that he would slip back into that low, and stay there.  When we got first got here, he was miserable. He had seen an old (think 10+ yrs) ex of mine and he just slid down so low that we were going days without talking.  I was really beginning to doubt our decision to come back.  One day, I confronted him about it, despite him insisting he didn't want to talk about it. I told him that he was wasting his life, missing T growing up. He protested, but I told him that he wasn't being present. By dwelling in the past, he was missing the present. He was missing everything.  And from that day on, something changed. He is happy, he is smiling, he plays with T when he gets home from work, and he is playful with me again. My husband is back, I hope to stay. And for that, I am so very thankful!

    Also, I am so thankful that I get to spend Thanksgiving with my parents, sisters, and my niece this year! :)

    I am thankful for ds's health, and for all the people who have made it possible. I'm also thankful that he will be able to experience a real Thanksgiving with family this year.

    I am thankful that my husband got a new job that pays on time and has great health insurance.

    I am thankful that we are moving to an affordable, cute three bedroom house on 2/3 an acre so we can have a garden and chickens.  So excited about this.

    I am also grateful that I get to see my mom on Thanksgiving because I can't remember when the last time we had that time together.  It was always our biggest holiday celebration when we were growing up, but since I moved I have hardly gotten to enjoy it with my family.

    I'm thankful that DH's year long internship will be over in a few short weeks. No more 12 hour days, no more only seeing J in the morning for a few minutes. It has been YEARS since he has only had one job to focus on. He's amazing at juggling his responsibilities, but I'm just so grateful that he finally gets a breather.

    Thanks for posting this! I am thankful for so many things. I truly am blessed to live the life I do and that I don't have anything major to worry about. I have a wonderful family. I have a home and we always have plenty of food. Everyone in my family is healthy. I am thankful for all these things, especially because not everyone is as lucky. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
