When could you wear your pre-pg pants again?

I know it hasn't been that long since DS was born, but I'm getting super anxious to be able to wear my pre-pg pants!!! ?I know everyone is different, but when could you wear your pre-pg pants again??

Re: When could you wear your pre-pg pants again?

  • 6 weeks for some of them....my dress pants still don't fit. I kinda miss it being ok for me to be hugeSad

  • I'm just beginning to be able to wear some of them.  I still have the lovely "muffin top" that must be disguised with baggy shirts, but for the most part my "bigger" pants fit.
  • UGH! I hate this subject. Two lbs UNDER my pre-pre weight and my jeans are nowhere near fitting. My hips spread so my jeans don't fit and I'm BF so my boobs are huge and none of my tops fit. I guess it will just take time :)

  • 4 weeks but they are pretty tight because my ass got huge =(
    2 losses
    2 beautiful children
    proud mommy!
  • oliver is 6.5m and I am still not in my pre pg jeans.....

there are a few i can get up, but no way in hell could i ever get them to zip.

my hips got sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wide when i was pg

i *hope* i can get into them by my bday (feb 3) but I have to start working on it

  • I am still no where close to that point. I have lost my pre pg weight, and am happy with my body except my belly. It is sooo gross. It will never be the same. Not that is was ever great by any means, but I carried so low, there is just no help.

I think I am the exception. Most girls it seems are back in "regular" clothes by 8 or so weeks. I hope you get in yours soon. I get sad looking at them all hanging so nicely in my closet!

  • It doesn't seem to have a lot to do with weight, it's more about toning and your hips getting back in place (which I am not sure ever actually happens). I've all but lost a few pounds and am still to big for most of my clothes.

  • I put my jeans on 5 days after DD was born.  I hung out in my pre pg yoga pants and sweats until then.
  • I'm still not :(  I'm going shopping tomorrow to buy more pants before I go back to work in January. Sigh.

  • I put them on for the first time last week and they fit!  I was so excited.

  • I can fit in my bigger jeans but my dress pants are not  fitting at all. My hips have spread considerably.  I have 10 more pounds to shed and after that I still don't think they will fit.
  • I lost weight before I got pregnant and kept all of that size just for this purpose...  I was back into that bigger size in a few weeks, i'd say. But not all of them fit, only a few pairs.

It's a good thing that I can wear velour jogging pants every day cause I have basically been living in them since I was 20ish wks pregnant (that's when my small size pants stopped fitting.)

  • 9 days. But that came with a muffin top... they're starting to fit MUCH better now.
Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! • About a week after but they were tight...around 2 weeks they started to fit more normal.

  • 7 days after she was born but I had GD and only gained 12lbs.
  • I was able to fit into my jeans about 2 weeks pp.  I had a muffin top in them, so I didn't really wear them out.  I wore my bigger pants until I was able to get rid of the muffin top about 1 month pp.  At 2 months pp my jeans fit pretty much like they did pre-pg.  I still have about 8 lbs. to lose (they just won't go away - UGH).  I gained 30 lbs. with this pregnancy and lost about 20 of it 2 weeks pp.  The rest is hanging on for dear life.
  • I still cannot--at least the ones I was wearing just before getting pg. I still have some "fat" regular clothes that I stuff myself into, and I've bought some new pieces.

  • I put them on at 10 days and they fit, so I packed up my maternity ones.
  • The day I got home from the hospital I was able to wear them again. I couldn;t believe it but was very happy
  • I tried at 6 weeks pp and they were fine, so probably before that I was just too afraid to try. :)

That being said, I'm a bit fluffy to begin with and only gained 20 pounds with B.  Lost all that by the time we came home from the hospital.

However, I still have a lovely muffin top and a flabby belly... Which I blame on B (lol) but I know it's mostly to do w/the fact that I'm a bit fluffy.

  • ooookay...

I'm hoping that there are a ton of girls out there who are still not anywhere close to being able to fit into their pre-pregnancy jeans but are afraid to post on here after 842 girls just said their jeans fit approximately 6 minutes after giving birth.

FWIW, I'm not able to get my jeans above my thighs and I'm incredibly jealous of all of you.  For comparison purposes, I was around a size 8-10 before and am a size 12-14ish now.  I gained 35-40 pounds.  I carried DS in my a**.

  • Yea... I'm still in my maternity pants. Embarrassed I'm doing ww after the holidays, I swear...
  • I just tried mine on today and they fit.  However, I gained weight BEFORE I got pg, so they're still nowhere near the size I am wanting to be!  :)

  • I would not be jealous of anyone, you have a beautiful baby, worry about the weight later....

I just had a perfect little boy two weeks ago and I am only 4lbs over my prepregnancy weight but I am afraid to try on my pants!

  • I may be late in answering, but hopefully this will make you feel better.I know nothing made me feel worse than all the girls who said they were in normal clothes within a week. I was tiny pre pg. 5'3 and 108lbs. I gained 35lbs bc I ate more than I probably should have. First 20 fell off within 2 weeks. The rest hung on for dear life.I started light exersize( walking) at 2 weeks pp, and running at 5-6. I have since lost all but 7lbs, and I have worked hard for this. For me I guess the weight just dosent fall off. I am pretty confident I will be back to my regular weight by 12 week pp. Almost all of my jeans fit now,so luckily for me the fat in my a$$ was first to go.

  • Wow, I opened this post hoping it would make me feel better, but now I feel absolutely horrible.  I'm nowhere near fitting into my prepreg clothes.  I probably only have 5 pounds left to lose, but I'm 2-3 sizes bigger than I was prepreg.  I used to wear 4-6 and I went to Banana Republic this weekend and was trying on size 10 pants.  NONE of my clothes fit and I have to go back to work in 2 weeks!

I'm so frustrated because I stayed so active during pregnancy - continued going to the gym up until the last day - because I thought it would help with the size issue.  No dice.

      Seriously, now I'm depressed...

  • I was just checking responses from when I posted last night. Thats was not a great way to start off your morning. I guess there is only a few of us that are no where close to pre pg clothes :(

Oh well...off to put on my jeans WITHOUT zippers and be comfy all day!
