1st Trimester

i'm going to explode..poop problems

i'm usually on TTC, however since all of you are actually KU, I thought this was a more appropriate place to post since constipation issues are common when pregnant. i'm in the 2ww...the past 4 days I can only go a little and super uncomfortable.

can you take laxatives during the 2ww or in the 1st tri?

Re: i'm going to explode..poop problems

  • I have been eating a rice cake that has flax in it every morning and a small glass of prune juice at night at it solved all my issues I was having.

One of the first pregnancy symptoms I had was rabbit pellet poop after being SO regular for years.

  • Prune juice doesn't work for me and besides is hard to drink all that water I do my best everyday but is hard ;-/ :-S
  • You are extremely rude. Pregger is commonly used in the place of pregnant. Stop treating everyone like they are stupid. This forum is meant for helpful comments. Not offensive and hurtful put downs. Maybe you should drink some prune juice or milk of magnesia. You might get constipated with that stick up your butt.
  • Tucker1384 - I take citranatal assure prenatal vitamins. They have docusate sodium in them which is a mild laxative. They are kind of pricey (prescription) but my ob gave me some free samples and I love them!

  • BTW If you think that was a nice way to correct someone I would hate to see you being rude!
  • odd pic tucker
  • you must be a very unhappy person. make it a great night!
  • Another person demanding helpful comments only. Le sigh.

  • I was told by my doctor that pregnant women should not take laxatives. I've been taking Metamucil fiber tablets everyday along with drinking lots of water. You could also eat tons of fruit. Kiwi is pretty good and apples with the peel left on, really any fruit. Oh, and beans!
  •  thanks for all your suggestions...hopefully i'll get things moving

Have you tried ginger tea or peppermint? I sometimes get a 1/2 calf latte....that seems to help me

  • 9 weeks here. I have the same problem. Laxatives aren't good during pregnancy, but I find that if I eat lots of veggies and whole grains and take a colace every now and again that i'm a little more regular.
  • Mine has been worsened by the zofran. I finally went this morning after a week! What a celebration!!!!!! This afternoon I overindulged in some icecream, I'm feeling a monster dump coming on! Oh happy day, maybe I found my answer!!!!!
  • Lololol love it!
  • My ob okayed milk of magnesium for me (today). It's been five days. I'm. to taking my pov because I've been so sick, but my body is all out of sorts because of the pregnancy. It takes forever for me to digest food in general. Going forward my ob recommended fibercon (?) and colace if needed. GL!
