How long does your LO chill

In a bouncer, swing or mamaroo?

LO will only stay in one for about 15 minutes max if he is awake before losing it. Has slept In an bouncer only if he's already passed out . Hates his swing.

I broke down and bought a mamaroo to try it for a couple days (they said I can return it at BRU if he hates it).

Re: How long does your LO chill

  • My LO kind of hated the mamaroo at first so give it a few tries. But she hangs out in it awake for a while 45-1hr. She could sleep forever in it, I'm convinced.

  • Mine hates bouncer... Loves the mamaroo but only if he's sleepy - if he is it'll knock him out but if he's wide awake he'll stay in it maybe 1-5 minutes before demanding to be held :/. But it does give us some good naps.

  • My little guy uses swing only if he's fussy in the night and I'd say it only works for him half the time. His favorite chill spot is on momma in his baby bjorn. I'm holding him in it about an hour or so after each feeding bc of his reflux issues. He loves it! Instant calm baby ;;)
  • She will go 10-15 minutes sometimes. Sometimes it's more like 2 minutes.

  • DS will stay in the bouncer with the vibration on for HOURS. He will stay awake in it for a while until he falls asleep. He sleeps in it for some naps and at night once in a while (1-2x per week) when we can't get him to stay asleep in the crib. He hates the swing. We don't have a mamaroo.

LO was sleepy so I put him in mamaroo and he is alseep! Thanks for the tip!!
  • She hates the swing and bouncer but I keep trying it. She does like to lay on her back and kick around but that lasts usually around 15 min. I'm holding her the rest of the time

  • It really depends on the time of day. During the sweet morning hours she can hang out in there for about 30 minutes, Smiling away at the toys. If I try to put her in it during the evening, aww hell no. She'll sleep in it for a couple of hours if she's already passed out when I put her down.

This for us too. In the morning, up to an hour just hanging out. In the evening? Nope octopus

  • My LO chills best on his playmat or in his RNP. sometimes 20-30 minutes. He usually hates his bouncer after 3 minutes or less! He apparently is not a fan of vibrations because he hated the vibrations on his bassinet as well.

  • It depends. If he's sleepy he will chill out for longer periods up to 2 hours. If he's awake, 5-30 minutes at the most.

  • Depends on the time of day here too. Sometimes she'll sit in the bouncer for an hour sometimes 30 seconds. The playmat lasts about 15 min. And up until recently she hated the swing with a passion. I move it now to where ever I am and start her out on the highest setting and she will chill.

  • It depends on the time of day. He chills happily in the RnP in our bedroom in the mornings (he doesn't sleep in it though, sleeps next to me in the Arms Reach cosleeper) while I brush teeth/wash face/get dressed etc. He will chill in the Mamaroo for hours but ONLY if I put him in it while asleep. He will chill briefly now in his play gym on the floor or propped up on the Boppy (been doing that since we brought him home) but he mostly likes to be held/worn if he's awake. Especially in the evening... DH used to put him in his car seat to chill but he is getting annoyed with that now that he's bigger.

  • It depends on the time of the day for DD.  I have a really chill baby who is ok with being in the swing, RNP, and bouncer for a lot of the day.  She loves the swing, especially, because she stares at the mobile.  We rarely have it swing.  From the evening until 1 a.m, she wants to be held.

Wow do I feel unlucky. LO doesn't like to be put down anywhere for longer than a minute.

Samesies pretty much. She used to like her swing but not anymore. I did get lucky yesterday and was able to put her in the bouncer for about 20 mins before she freaked. It gave me enough time to make a meatloaf for dinner so I can't complain.

This. LO is pretty okay with chilling anywhere, unless it's flat, then she fusses after prob 20 minutes. She is a disaster from 4-9 each night, but luckily sleeps hard in her RNP at night.

  • About 30 minutes in her bouncer. She really likes her ocean bubbler crib thing and will lay in there for 45mim or longer and state at it. She will also chill on the floor kicking and chatting for quite awhile as long as the dog leaves her alone.

  • My son won't last more than 20 mins in his bouncer, unless he's asleep, then I might get 45 minutes. The swing gets on his last nerve after about 15 minutes, which is too bad cause that shiz was expensive (snug-a-bunny). He does best when I wear him or hold him. He's not too into the play gym for longer than 10-15 mins either. I think he's too young

  • It definitely depends on the time of day, but I have developed a routine:

Bouncy seat when I am in the kitchen, that way I can have my coffee and brkfst in the am, and have been able to cook in the evenings and he is really quite happy. I have a patio door in my kitchen,  with lots of trees outside, so he just chills and looks out.

The swing is for afternoons if I need to get something done and cannot be holding him. He always falls asleep in it though.

The play mat is a shorter length of time.. sometimes milliseconds before he freaks out. Yesterday was a rare day where he hung out on the mat for 15 minutes, checked out all his toys and was mesmerized by the lights and music. ( I have the FP one with the giraffe on the side).

  • Mine loved the bouncer in the beginning, but now she does better in the swing. I put her in there in the morning & usually have enough time to pump, eat b'fast, and- if I'm lucky- shower.

  • DD hates the swing with a fiery passion. So did DS. We should just sell it.

She will only chill in bouncy seat for 2 min or if she's asleep.

Her normal routine is eat, awake time for 10-20 min, then nap. So normally we just do tummy time/exercise mat time after she eats and then she sleeps on me or in the Ergo, and after she's asleep I can put her in the chair...

  • LO just had two successful mamaroo naps - keeping it!
  • He hates the bouncer, unless I am rocking it vigorously. He will swing for up to 2 hours, now, but hated the swing for the longest time. He will only swing if he is not too upset and I try my best to limit his time to a half hour. However, there are days it is the only downtime I get, so admit to leaving him in it that extra hour.

  • LO likes the swing and as long as it isn't his witching hour will stay in there content. He will only sit in the bouncy chair if he is already asleep, I just keep it in my bathroom for when I need to shower. In the evenings like clockwork he screams until put in his crib. He will spend 30-45 minutes just chilling in there. I think it helps him pass gas.
