Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Christmas Gift for 6 month old

Hi ladies! I mainly reside on the TTGP board, but thought I'd lean on you for advice on this one. I couldn't find a post on this from this year so here is my question: What is a good toy/kind of toy to get for my 6month old nephew? Or what are you getting your 6 month old?

  • I've been telling everyone that asks that we would prefer diapers over a bunch of toys, but we did get a few things. He has an oball flexiloop that he loves, so I got another oball with rattle parts in it, any cute sale clothes I see, a movie that he might like in a few years and socks because they disappear like crazy!
  • We've ordered this thing called a Ballapalooza.  It's a bunch of chutes that he can roll balls down and it makes noise and moves and looks like a ton of fun.  It's rated for ages 6-18 months, so he'll be at the very low end of the age range at xmas.  I've requested books from the rest of the family.  My mom is hellbent on getting him a toybox even though we've told her time and time again that we don't have room, so that just might have to stay at her house.

Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

  • My LO loves his Freddie the Firefly and O balls. For Christmas, we plan on getting him some books (always a good idea), a Fisher Price puppy, blocks, a stacker, and maybe some other toys.
  • My son will be 5 months on Christmas. And we are focusing things we will need/want before he turns 1. Such as sippy cups, an activity table for when he starts pulling himself up, a pushing/walking toy for when he begins to toddle, sensory balls, and a drum to bang on. :)
  • My LO is 5mo at christmas, we have been asking for clothes along the 6-9 and 9-12mo range. I know he is getting the stacking ring toy, a vtech stuffed puppy that sings/makes noises when you push different places (6-18mo), and the cars that use the ball in the middle instead of the wheels from gma. We have bought him a toy with the crinkly bit in it, a walker and a toy chest.

  • I went to Walmart in the baby and toy department. The toys have ages listed on the packaging. The baby department has toys for younger babies starting at 0+ months and the toy department starts at 6+ months. Just got to the isle with the Fisher-Price toys, and the baby toys for 6+ months are there. I bought my LO learning toys and toys with music. My son loves the LeapFrog My Pal Scout. It can be programmed by computer to call the child by name and incorporates it by spelling it and adding it to songs. You can also program songs on it as well.
