Can anyone give me their sleep experiences after birthing multiples? More sleep, due to no longer sleeping with a watermelon sized belly? Less sleep due to babies not sleeping? I'd love to hear all of your stories
Mine was about the same. None and none. Lol I hurt a lot at the end of my pregnancy. I was stressed. Worried and sore. I couldn't breathe
Them babies came and I was stressed and worried because they were in the nicu. I got some sleep for seven days. But them they came home after 17 days and no sleep again.
I slept again when they were about 8 months old.

I'm interested in whether or not the activity level is similar in utero vs. outside. My babies are CONSTANTLY moving. I even mentioned to hubs I think 'B' will have restless leg syndrome.
Towards the end sleep was tough because I had to sleep on the couch because I couldn't lift my legs to get into bed. It was definitely hard to get comfortable and turn. The boys started sleeping through the night around 2 1/2 months. We've only had three maybe four rough nights since we've brought them home. C was relaxed in utero and he is very relaxed and laid back on the outside. D was always moving on the inside and it's the same on the outside.

Pg sleep was rough bc I had awful acid reflux and would wake up vomiting acid, so that part improved dramatically.
We do one up/both up, so that cut down on the time spent feeding them but you always get the lowest common denominator of sleep. At 5 mo, they sleep roughly from 9pm - 6a w a dreamfeed at 1030p and a few wake ups to replace pacis.
I haven't slept through the night since my oldest was born 3.5 years ago. If I have to get up less than 3x a night, that's a win in my book.
I really hope sleeping is better once these babies are born! I'm only 27w2d and sleeping sucks!!! I constantly flip from side to side all night long and for the first time my left hip has been in pain if I lay on that side.(anybody experience this??) I think at least when the babies are here when I do sleep it'll be good sleep right??
I slept better when I was pregnant- but that is my sleep issues (right now I sleep 3-4 hours a night vs 6-8 when I was pregnant). My boys STTN at 12 weeks. My guys were always pretty calm- except around 9-10 pm while in utero.... after they were born- John was still a chilled out little guy and Nicholas is always alert- and now always on the go.
I'm 22 weeks and haven't been sleeping well the past 3-4 weeks. Turning from side to side & my legs and hips bother me at night, not every night, but often enough.
I got some sleep while pregnant but now I get less from waking every 3 or so hours to pump milk for them. They are still in the NICU but I'm much more exhausted now...... As I type this to stay awake at 3:30 am. It's harder waking up to someone else's schedule than if you were to wake on your own I think. They are the same activity wise inside as they are outside my belly too. Both super calm and not much wiggling around.
Together 6 wonderful years.

All of this, except mine seem squirmier now than they were in utero.
Horrible pregnancy sleep due to size and horrible acid reflux vomiting episodes. No sleep at first after they where born but since about 2 months it's gotten better.

Thanks ladies! I know someone who just had twins, and she swears she'll get more sleep, now that they're born. I think she is naive. I only had singletons, and was absolutely sleep deprived after they were born. Of course, I never had any help either, so maybe that's why my experiences were so hard.
It totally depends on how miserable the end of your pregnancy was. I was so miserable at the end - 37 weeks along, could barely walk, I ached no matter how I tried to lay down, and I was covered in the itchiest, most horrific case of PUPPPs all over my body that I seriously didn't sleep more than an hour or two a night for at least two weeks. The spinal brought me so much relief that I almost slept through the c-section, haha.
Like many others responding here, I don't have much good news for you. I had difficult sleep during pregnancy due to pain, discomfort and hunger. I was tired. Nothing could prepare me for the exhaustion of newborn twins. I was bfing/pumping around the clock (every 3 hours) so got maybe an hour of sleep broken up at a time. It was so awful. I am less exhausted now at 9 months old, but tired is how I feel all the time. And my babies usually only wake up once at night at this point. We do trade off naps (when one of us does baby care for about 4 hours so the other can sleep) on the week-ends though and that helps.
