June 2014 Moms

Anyone else have dreams of miscarriage?

I keep having dreams that I have a miscarriage. This is my biggest fear right now. This trimester feels like it's lasting an eternity!! I have really bad anxiety, I'm usually medicated for it but can no longer take the meds because I'm pregnant. I'm also a first time mom so EVERYTHING scares me. Every little pain I have and then if I have a pretty good day with barely any nausea I freak out that something is wrong! I'm due at the end of June so I'm only 9 weeks. Wish I could speed up these next couple weeks!

Re: Anyone else have dreams of miscarriage?

  • Try not to worry. Your dreams are a reflection of your fears. I had a few miscarriage dreams. They can be quite disconcerting when you wake up. Having dealt with some anxiety in the past, I know how easy it is to let the worry in and then have it eat at you all day. Don't let it. Think about something positive. I'm 10w3d and all is well. I'm positive things are good for you too. When is your next appt? Hopefully that will help ease your mind.

  • Im 9w3d. I've also had miscarriage dreams. I had a dream that when I go for my next appt there is no heartbeat and we found out I lost it. However, when I did have my miscarriage and ectopic, I had no dreams that anything was wrong. I know its hard, but try not to worry

  • Next appointment is Dec 16th. It's my 12 week appointment. I will have my first ultrasound and finally get to hear the heartbeat! I'm so looking forward to it! Every time I start to think about this pregnancy ending in miscarriage I stop and tell myself, "you ARE going to have a baby at the end of this." :)
  • Good way to think! I'm in the same boat. Had an ultrasound at 5w6d and got a heartbeat but my next appt isn't until Dec 11. I'm anxious

  • Yes.  I've had miscarriage dreams during every pregnancy.  Since I haven't had an ultrasound or heard a heartbeat yet the anxiety has been worse this time around.  Last two pregnancies I had earlier ultrasounds.  I also have dreams about my children being kidnaped every pregnancy.

  • I had a couple miscarriage dreams before I had my ultrasound. I think after that my fears went down a bit and the miscarriage dreams stopped.
  • I had some really horrible miscarriage nightmares before my ultrasound. Now I've been having premie dreams. Hang in there!

  • I have been having the same issue... Some days are so good that I forget that I am even pregnant but other days I do get quite a bit of nausea so it is a helpful reminder. My dreams are horrible too. I have my next appointment tomorrow and I am supposed to be able to hear the heartbeat and my anxiety is getting the best of me. Trying my best to slow down and think happy thoughts. My husband has been great too... keeps reminding me that everything is fine and we are going to be great.

  • one dream I threw the baby up instead of a vaginal delivery… thanks pregnancy for weird dreams along with the scary ones.
  • Yes. I also had them my when I was pregnant with my son. They were horribly graphic and I would wake up crying. He is a healthy boy who will be 4 next week. I think our dreams are our fears sometimes.

  • Like pp say, it's just you working through your fears, it's not a sign of pending doom. I had a dream that I saw the sac passing while I was going to the bathroom. This was how my first pregnancy ended and I was 6w. My dream terrified me but I woke up realizing this is a totally different pregnancy and I need to allow my self conscious to shed itself of those fears of a repeat mc. I'm now 9 weeks and already detected a healthy HB, and feeling great. Big hugs.
  • I feel ya, girl. I had a dream last night that I got bit by a black widow spider and that it killed my baby. (Ridiculous, I know)
It's natural as a mother to worry from the very beginning and even tho it's hard to not worry, u have to just remember that it's out of your control and that you're doing the best you can. Im sure your fear will slowly go away as the time goes on :)
  • It's super scary, but like others mentioned, it's just your fears coming through in your dreams. I dreamt the baby fell out and was flopping around in the floor. Woke up in tears.
  • I had one last night and in my dream my Mom told me it was because I was a slut, which I am totally not AND that is not something my Mom would ever say..to anyone ever...even if they were a slut. Strange dreams, eh!

I dreamt that I went to the bathroom and passed some blood... After I passed some blood, the baby fell out and was in a clear bubble undeveloped. I'm glad I woke up.
