Weird craving of the week...

Okra lol I had one at my husbands Thanksgiving thing sat and then ate like the whole jar and had my husband pick a jar up yesterday. I had 2 more and am craving it really bad right now. What the heck! We are going to have to bring our own jar to my families Thanksgiving dinner Thursday so I don't eat them all! Anyone else having weird cravings? I mostly have craved sweets or fried food (a certain kind of food but not anything specific like this)

    i bought myself a giant jar of it last week and have eaten a little every day since. but hey, it has omega 3s, so maybe baby wanted it.  

    and my husband finds it horrifying, so i don't have to worry about him eating it on me!

  • I crave pasta with butter. I made some at midnight a few nights ago!! I talk about it so much that my sister even made it for her kids recently! HaHa!!
  • Vinegar in general! I ate some kettle chips yesterday that were "funky fusion" flavored, which is a cross between BBQ and Salt and Vinegar. I all but inhaled them! In addition to that, vinaigrettes, pickles, banana peppers, olives...basically anything vinegary or pickely.

  • Watermelon and things with sour cream ( quesdilla's, baked potatoes, chili). I eat the food, but I especially love the sour cream.
  • Vinegar in general! I ate some kettle chips yesterday that were "funky fusion" flavored, which is a cross between BBQ and Salt and Vinegar. I all but inhaled them! In addition to that, vinaigrettes, pickles, banana peppers, olives...basically anything vinegary or pickely.

    This is me too. I mean then okra is pickled and I ate a lot of green olives and salt and vinigar chips as well this week. I wonder why we get vinegar cravings? The only thing I could think of is that it settles acid. I did have heartburn this morning and then shortly after that I was craving the okra.

    I actually read that somewhere because I was curious, too. My sister also craved vinegar while pregnant. It doesn't seem to be associated with any kind of deficiency, just the body's natural desire to ease heartburn/sickness by settling the acid, or something. Either way, gimme all the vinegar you have, world!

  • Fruit juice.  This is weird because I really hardly ever drink anything with calories in it- I'd just way rather eat them!  But lately I just crave all kinds of juice esp grapefruit juice, and even crappy fruit punch that I'm not really sure has any juice in it at all.  Just thinking about it I can taste it.

  • I'm really wanting some spicy ranch pretzels! My friend makes them a lot and they're just pretzels drizzled with olive oil and tossed with ranch seasoning and a little cayenne pepper for a kick. So guess what I'll be throwing together tonight ;)
  • Add me to the vinegar list! Pickles (the spicier the better), green olives and banana peppers are so good. Now I want a piece of pizza covered in peppers, and a spicy pickle on the side.
  • I was using apple cider vinegar the other day and suddenly I just wanted to drink it! I didn't... but it seems so weird to crave vinegar!
  • Toast with miracle whip and melted cheese. I hate all of the above... Except for cheese-- it's a sin to hate cheese.

  • Today I went to whole foods after yoga (don't judge me!) and I got tuna salad, spinach salad, Missouri caviar, a dolma, and cacik sauce. Tuna and Greek and Turkish. Def pregnant.

  • I've been putting ranch on my eggs lately. Everyone I know thinks it's gross, but I think it's the greatest thing ever. Well, at least right now I do- if I weren't pregnant I'd probably think it was a gross combo.
  • Brussels sprouts?? I'm making a new dish with Brussels sprouts for t-giving and I plan to eat the whole damn dish.

  • That ranch pretzel recipe sounds amazing! I ate chicken bacon ranch pita sandwiches for a couple days straight over the weekend, with extra ranch. Mmmmm.

  • I was suppose to run to the store and then hurry home to help get the gets to bed. I am still at the store, sitting in the car devouring a bag of beef jerky. I saw it at checkout and by the time I got to the car and put my groceries away I found my self thinking about it. It's 25 degrees and I ran back in to get the bag!!

  • Definitely any kind of juice like orange or any fruity soda (Fanta).  And potatoes of any kind as well as noodles.  Ramen and rice noodles the most.
  • San pellegrino grapefruit soda. Makes lingering nausea better. Maybe it's the acid content too like the vinegar? Otherwise had shake shack burger cravings a couple wks ago and ate two burgers and fries. Must have been deficient in iron or something...
  • This isn't really weird, but black beans with melted cheese and spices or chipotle. I could literally eat these and nothing else everyday
