I try to do oatmeal with flaxseed meal in the morning about an hour before I do my morning pump. Then I eat the cookies throughout the day (about 5-6). I don't notice an immediate response, but rather a response over a couple of days and now I'm trying to keep that supply up.
It takes around 12 hours or so for me to notice a difference. I just made a batch yesterday morning and ate a bunch (really too many) throughout the day and woke up to bowling balls on my chest this morning. They are so good so it's hard for me to stop eating them, but I've noticed after 3-4 days of eating them my breasts are still pretty full even after nursing. While I'm glad they work so well for me, I absolutely hate having to pump that much.
It took two days for me to notice an improvement in supply, but I'm probably not eating enough. I really don't like any cookies (weird, I know!) so I'm kinda forcing myself to eat them. My husband and my male coworker have both tried them and assure me they are good!
