Alcohol. Other than that my travel staple is a bunch of big lightweight receiving blankets stuffed in several handy locations. You never know when you are going to have to make a surface a play space or a changing area! And hand wipes. I feel like hand sanitizer rubs the dirt around so I like individually wrapped wipes that I keep in my pockets!
Anything to best recreate sleeping at home - white noise, pjs, something that smells like home. Lots of burp cloths if your baby is a spitter. Toys for the plane. Anything familiar from home to make the transition easier.
And bring lots of prayers for sleep. My LO was in the sleep regression at home but only waking once or twice and going back down within 30 min-an hour. Now that we're traveling she's refusing to be put down to sleep at all. So lots of prayers!

Paci wipes. And general wipes. I'm not particularly germaphobic but when Colton started touching the tray and the screen (JetBlue) then eating his hands I freaked a little. On our way back as soon as we sat down I gave all the reachable surface area a quick wipe before Colton started trying to lick the nob that opens the tray. Good luck !
I wouldn't worry about the sound machine. There are plenty of white noise apps you can download on your phone if its necessary. I like what the pp said about plenty of blankets (A+A ones pack so well), plus a couple familiar toys. You could even untie the kick and play mat and roll it up to bring. A carrier for sure.
My wrap so I could wear her and the A and A blankets saved my vacation. Also, I agree with what pp said, anything that you need to recreate his sleep environment.
Ziplock bags! To hold pacis or poop clothes or poopie diapers or whatever!!
I would also pack your thermometer (just in case). You can pick up meds if you need to on the mainland, but bringing the thermometer will give you peace of mind.
A travel-sized Lanolin in case the change of atmosphere/weather upsets his skin.
Digital baby thermometer. I forgot ours on my last trip and had to go buy one, because of course LO got her first cold. We have a tiny rectal thermometer so it doesn't take up much room.
