How do you check for poop?

Man, DH is in the majority here. DS usually tells me when he's pooping, then nags me about the poop, then I pat him down. DH thinks it's beyond gross to pat down because you're basically touching poop.

Yep. LO is usually constipated so when she goes I know (face/crying/straining). We do get false alarms so I always do a pat down to be sure.

I'll smell it, then ask Em, "did you poop?" (OK, I admit it...this is the ONE instance where baby talk has taken over me brain. I really ask, "did you go poopies?" Oh, the shame...)

I always peek to check too. She's been honest so far, and it's hilarious if she did poop, because she'll say "uh huh", grab her diaper, and start stomping around sumo wrestler style.

If I've seen him do it (which is obvious as anything if I see his face) then that's the end of it.

If I smell it, or randomly sneeze once when I'm near LO without having seen him do his "I'm pooing" face then I will usually peek to check. Because some of his farts alone are bad.

That being said I always peek to make sure before we go any further to have some idea how many wipes to prepare. So I picked peek.

Another smell or peek vote.

Pat down just feels like fluffy butt unless she's super wet, then it's bulky butt.
