The only thing that really bugs me is the "what's your excuse".... everyone has different genes than everyone else....some people can lose weight no problem and others who do try have a hard time.
This lady is extremely full of herself. I think she has some serious insecurities that make her feel the need to work out so much and keep in excellent shape. I read a lot of her posts and she has some issues.
Ugh she needs to STFU, is she trying to stretch her 15 minutes out? We all have different bodies, priorities, and families. The world would be a pretty boring place if we were all like her.
Honestly, I am probably one of the few people she doesn't bother. She comes from a long line of people with weight related health issues. I so get that. Yah, her words may not always be graceful, but I get where she stands and I don't think she's a big mean bully like everyone is making her out to be. Fitness is a huge priority in my life (no six pack here though) as my uncle has been hospitalized almost in a diabetic coma, my grandmother has been in a wheelchair since she was about 50 because she is so heavy that her joints can't handle her standing for long periods, her younger sisters are the same. With all the health issues in my family, I want to do everything that I can to take care of myself so I will be here with my kids, and be able to play with my kids. Up until this post, I didn't mind her. But, when she talked about getting choked up looking at the picture of her sister, that rubbed me wrong. You can't see much of the picture, but it doesn't look like her sister is "obese" to me. That's where she lost me. That's where I see the snobbery come out that has been pissing every one else off. Shame.
I actually don't think she was calling her sister obese. I think she was talking about the fact that she was crying in the picture. She says obesity affects a family and not a person, meaning her sister was crying at her wedding because their mom was in the hospital. I can get behind her points about health and obesity. However, her image was aimed at MOMS. Her picture was implying that if you don't have great abs by the time your child is 8 months old or after 3 children, then you must be unhealthy and making excuses and be part of the obesity epidemic. Again, like everyone else said, the "no excuses" tag line just comes across as smug and conceited. Also I don't need to research her life story and read up on her personal issues. She put a very controversial image out there, fully knowing what the public ( especially mothers ) would make of it. Don't start back peddling now and grasping for more attention with your personal sob story. Your ideal body does not equate to what is healthy for everyone else. Be happy with your hard work, but don't act as though being a gym rat and having an obsession with your appearance is the only acceptable and healthy way to live.
@TheTamedShrew That makes more sense. Duh. Clearly I haven't had enough coffee yet. I agree that the she did it because she knew she was going to get attention for it. I guess it didn't bother me because I came at it differently. I think really there's no winning. If you're a mom and you don't look like Heidi Klum walking down the runway at a Victoria's Secret show 6 weeks post baby, then what's the matter with you? But, if you are in decent shape then you're selfish for spending any time working out when you could be spending time with you kid. I got my fair share of that. I am not a gym rat by any means. I work out 5 days a week, but most I do at home, unless it's summer and I'm running outside. Even with that, I don't look anything like her. Lol. I had people get pissy with me because I obviously have vanity issues and my child should be a priority over how I look. Sometimes there's just no winning. And, yes. I also vote robot.
tiffletons518 I wouldn't say that I judge fit moms in general, but don't try to put your priorities and insecurities on me. I judge you for all your bump time, not because you work out so much JK ILY
@wasnotwas Agreed. And, also.. what the crap? It's Tuesday and you aren't on the leaderboard? Slacker...
It's a lot of work to maintain leaderboard status...this weekend the kids were especially demanding so I've been enjoying working (and being away from them(!)) ...going to mommy hell...

I can imagine. DD1 is sick, so she stayed home and whined all day yesterday. She has a case of the man cold. And, because DD2 has to do everything DD1 does, she also spent all day whining. And, fighting with DD1. And, DS is teething. I SAH, so I'm looking forward to Thursday (pending DD1 is better) where there are lots of other people to help keep them entertained. Lol. 2 more days. Bring on the coffee and wine

See it's days/weeks like this that I bow down to SAHMs. My super judgy neighbor finally broke down and was crying to me yesterday because she just wants a day off, not a day to go treat herself with a mani (her husband "lets" her do that all the time) but to just sit at home and watch tv all day. I felt so bad for her...

Aww bless her. A day to sit and watch tv, in peace. I have no idea what that would even be like. We keep the closed captioning on in our house, otherwise we would never know what was happening on the shows we watch. Can't hear a thing. Lol.
That woman is infuriating. Should people work to be healthy? Absolutely! But her wording in the ad was offensive. I've always been thin except a year in college, when I partied way too hard. I worked very hard to get back to healthy. It's more important to be HEALTHY not little miss 6 pack with three kids. Women shouldn't have to have an excuse or be told they are making excuses when they don't have any itty bitty frame and body post baby. Am I back down to my pp weight? Just about. Do I look like my old self? Definatly not! And I don't CARE. Because my focus is on eating well and staying active with my baby, not slaving away to make society happy. And this blog post? Seriously? There's stroke, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, you name it in my family medical history. I focus on eating healthy (with fun splurges when I want), and making good choices. And knowing that dropping weight quickly is actually extremely dangerous to my health. If it takes a year to lose the weight, it takes a year. Why does she care? Turd.
