I just got a phone call from Walgreens after I placed a refill for LO's refulx medication. They told me the dosage instructions they gave me on my empty bottle at home were incorrect. I had been giving my LO 6ML 3X a day for the past three weeks and they meant to instruct me to give her 0.6ML 3X a day. Of course I got very angry and called my pediatrician out of concern for LO. Dr. is not concerned. Whewf. That doesn't discount the fact that I have been giving this perfect little infant way more medicine than her little body needs. It makes me sick.
My point of posting this is two-fold:
1.Is there anything else I should be doing? Can I report a pharmacy? I am obviously never going back there. Their mistake is very dangerous and they were fortunate enough that the medication wasn't a serious/damaging medication. Has this ever happened to anyone? Am I overreacting?
2. I want to remind you all that YOU are your baby's best advocate. If something doesn't seem right, follow up on it. You are allowed to double check people (like I will be doing now).
Edit for spelling.
