For those who did/are doing PGS...

How long did it take to get the results back or how long were you told to expect them to take?  We are doing PGS not PGD and are questioning whether we need to freeze embryos at day 5 after biopsy and then do a FET later or whether we can transfer at day 6 without having to freeze.

We are using Genesis Genetics if that makes a difference.

    We are planning on doing CGH (if we get enough embryos) and I think it takes 3 or 4 weeks to get the results back.  However, I think we have the option of doing "hindsight CGH" where we biopsy our embryos and then freeze the biopsy.  We then transfer on day 5 and can decide after the cycle whether or not we want to send out the biopsy for testing.  If we decide not to send out the biopsy, we don't have to pay for the CGH, only the biopsy.

    I still need to talk to someone at the clinic about our options for testing. My RE usually discusses things in very basic terms and I find out the exact procedure later from my nurse.

    September 2012: Start IF testing

    DH (32): SA is ok, slightly low morph, normal SCSA  Me (32): Slightly low progesterone, hostile CM, carrier for CF, Moderately high NKC, High TNFa, heterozyogous mutated Factor XIII, and +APA

    October 2012-May 2014: 4 failed IUIs, 3 failed IVFs, and 1 failed FETw/donor embryos

    November 2014: IVF w/ICSI #4 Agonist/Antagonist with EPP and Prednisone, Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, and IVIG for immune issues.  Converted to freeze all due to lining issues.  2 blasts frozen on day 6!

    January 2015: FET #2 Cancelled due to lining issues

    April 2015: FET #2.1

    We are doing PGS for our January cycle but it will be a freeze all.  My RE said they could do a fresh transfer but thinks a FET would be more successful once my body readjusts after all the hormones for the retrieval.

    He said the PGS results will take about 10 days.

    We did PGD and a 5 day transfer...we found out the morning of the ET. We will be doing the same thing this cycle. We used genesis genetics as well.
    2013- 2 IVF cycles with PGD to prevent genetic disorder from being passed on. Both BFFN :(
    2/2014 pregnant!  EDD 10/17/2014

    We used Natera and got results a week after biopsy. Obviously we did a freeze all. I'm so glad we did because my best looking embie had genetic issues.

    TTC since 3/2011 Adenomyosis, LPD, hypothyroidism. 
    BFP on 7/20/12 after 4 cycles Clomid + IUI 
    2 large subchorionic hematomas & no heartbeat at 7w6d   
    D&E 8/18/12 Sonohysterography found septum and necrotic tissue.   
    Hysteroscopy to remove both 10/5
    IUI #5-7 50mg Clomid + trigger = BFN  
    IUI #8 Femara + Bravelle + HCG + Progesterone = BFP 3/27/13
    Beta 1 (13dpo) = 169  Beta 2 (17dpo) = 1073  No heartbeat at 9w3d. 
    D & C 5/10/13  Triploidy 69 (paternal inherited)
    IVF #1 with ICSI and PGS 11R 8M 5F 2 biopsied/frozen
    PGS results = 1 with trisomy 13 & 1 good embryo for FET 
    FET #1 EV, estrace, nitro patches.  Cancelled due to thin lining
    FET #1.2 oral estrace, f'ing nitro patches and no delestrogen.  Transfer 12/31. BFN

    Surprise BFP on 6/13/14  Our only unmedicated bfp ever.

    @weeklyplanner - So glad I read this!  I would be so worried if I didn't hear back in 10 days and would probably call a lot!  My nurse did say I would probably need to go on BC while waiting for the results which didn't make sense to me if it only took 10 days from retrieval.  It all makes sense now... thanks!

    We did testing on day 5 and got the results the next day (was supposed to be transfer day but all my embryos were unhealthy). GG told us it's very common for tje embryos not to be ready to be tested on day 5 and need to be tested on day 6

    6/12/2013 Diagnosed with Balanced Translocation (12 & 16)

    IVF #1 with PGS: 10/2013: Canceled 9/27/2013 for issues with genetic lab

    IVF #1.5 with PGS: 11/16/2013: Canceled. 11 eggs retrieved, 9 mature & 9 fertilized, all unhealthy embryos

    IVF #2: 1/22/14: Canceled. 16 eggs retrieved, 14 mature, 7 fertilized, all unhealthy embryos

    IVF #3 with PGS: 5/10/2014: Switched to FET in July. 10 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 8 fertilized, 2 healthy embryos!

    @LoveforLabs326 - My RE also used GG for our PGS. We had 8 blasts make it to day 5. All 8 were biopsied that morning and sent by same-day courier to GG's lab from NC to NJ. The best one of the group was kept fresh and the other 7 were frozen on day 5. We received the results the next day for the fresh - luckily it was normal - and we did a fresh transfer on day 6. The results of the other 7 came back within the week. If the fresh one that we transferred was found to be aneuploidy, we would've cancelled the fresh and went on to FET w/ one of the other 7. In total, 4 of the 7 were found to be normal and it took 2 more FETs after the fresh to get me my first ever bfp. After running the numbers, I truly believe PGS/aneuploidy screening) was worth the additional cost. Good luck!

    I used genesis and had a day 5 biopsy done and a 6 day transfer. I personally wouldn't do it again. I feel that the 6 day transfer for me was too late. The embryo had already fully hatched and my progesterone was a smidge high indicating that the lining was probably not as good at that point. I'm opting for a freeze all for this reason.
    Me: 37, DH: 38: ttc 7 years, dx: unknown
    10/11: after 2 years, saw a RE, FSH 5.4
    11/11: BFP! (surprise after thyroid & normal hsg),
    12/11: missed m/c after 7 week u/s, 1/12: D&C
    6/12 IUI#1-IUI #3: clomid = BFP!, C/P
    IVF #1(10/12) FSH 5.4, AFC: 16 long Lupron, 5R/5M/4F, all 4 made it to 5dt, 1 blast/1-8 cell transferred=BFN
    IVF #2(12/12)AFC 21, MD lupron, 4R/4M/3F, 5dt of 1 blast and 2-8cell. BFN.
    IVF#3(4/13) Natural start antagon protocol, 12R,11F. one PGS normal at day 6 transfer. BFN.
    IVF#4 (11/13) C.CRM (ODW.U normal 8/13 Still no Diagnosis) EPP/antagonist. ER 13R/7M/6F. Only 1 made it to freeze. Abnormal. Looking into options of DE, Fresh vs frozen.
    10/14 new local RE to look into what's next. CD3 FSH 4.7, AMH 0.9. Met with DE agencies and exploring options for feb/march 2015.
    Surprise natural bfp (4 days before donor is signed). Beta #1 at 9dpo: 51.8, 2nd beta: 195 (25 hours doubling) @11dpo. 3rd beta (12/15): 516 (35 hrs doubling) 4th beta(12/17): 895 (58 hours doubling) 5th beta(12/19): 2120. U/S at 5w0d(12/22): one gestational sac with yolk sac. U/S #2 (6w0d)12/29. One little bean measuring 6w0d with HR 124. 3rd u/s(1/4)7w0d: baby measuring 7w2d. HR 134. 3/30: A/S at MFM went great except for low lying placenta. Verifi results are normal! Team Blue! Please send any positive thoughts our way! EDD:8/24/2015
    Baby Will born 8/18. He's perfect.

    I'm going to have a day 5 biopsy done with freeze. My RE does not recommend day 6 transfers.

    Male Factor (severe oligospermia) 
    IVF#1-December 2013: Conversion Protocol @ SIRM, Canceled on day 10 of stims due to poor response
    IVF#2- February 2014:  Estrogen Priming Conversion Protocol @ SIRM (ER 2/22: (9R, 7M, 4F, All arrested, nothing to trasnfer)
    IUI#1-May 28, 2014- 100mg clomid, HCG Trigger, 100mg progesterone oral--BFN
    IUI#2-June 24, 2014- non medicated, HCG 2,500mg x 4 doses (over a week), Endometrium- BFN
    Suprise BFP- September 1, 2014- miscarriage at 5 weeks.

    Thanks for all the info ladies.  I think we are going to end up with a freeze all and now that I've seen your experiences, I think I would rather do that now anyway.
