Last of the PIO is done!

I'm finally finished with the PIO!!! Last shot was last night. My poor back side has been black and blue and lump for weeks, but this past week has been especially painful. The new blend of PIO with Ethyl Oleate burned and caused more irritation. It was so bad that Friday night DH and I got into a fight about where the best place to inject was and it ended with him storming off and telling me to do it my self if I was going to be so mean....since I was pouting, I finished it up and managed to get the injection done and went ahead and did last nights on my own too. I am SO ready for the lumps to go away. I cant wait to be comfortable laying on my side again!

YAY!!!! That's amazing - you must feel so free now! No more being a slave to PIO! haha My last day is tomorrow. Hallelujah!!!! I will say I'm a little nervous to just stop cold turkey. My nurse said if it made me feel better I could wean off with 1/2cc starting today and do that for like 3 days or so, but that it's totally not necessary. I've also been pretty lucky in that I haven't had much pain or any bruising, so a few extra days won't bother me too much if I decide to be a baby and keep doing it longer than I need to.

I finished mine Saturday and it was glorious!! My backside is torn up too!

Apparently it will be short lived joy....first OB appt today and due to history of recurrent preterm labor....I get to start hydroxyprogesterone shots at 16 weeks!! YAY! Another IM injection!

They are trying to order it through the doctor's office and let my husband do the shots, but I guess the standard is to have home health care people come and do it...I think for us IVF ladies who've done PIO....we can handle doing it on our own...its an IM shot in the same location as the PIO. A silly additional expense to have someone come to my house just to do a 1 minute shot.

Either way, I get 6 weeks shot free! and then it will only be once weekly

At least it's only once a week!!
And if regular OBs could only understand what us IFers have already been through they would know that a little IM shot once a week was like a vacation, lol! Good luck with them either way!
