I call bullshit on nursing with LO in a wrap. I tried it today at home for the second time. I mean come on. I have big boobs, maybe that's why it doesn't work. When he's in there and I take my boob out of the bra my nipple is somewhere around his shoulder. Am I missing something? My life would be so much easier if I could pull this off

Have you looked up the YouTube videos of how to do it? I watched one where she did it with the moby. I haven't tried yet though...

I don't know what kind of wrap you have, but in the instruction booklet for the Moby, there was a picture of someone nursing in it. No instructions though and it's wrapped differently from how it's wrapped to carry the baby. I haven't been able to work up the motivation to try it yet. At this point I'm still just happy that I can get DD to nurse on the sofa when I've got my breastfeeding pillow and we're sitting comfortably. I feel like all this NIP and nursing in a wrap/sling is still way too advanced for me. At this rate, we're going to be tied to my house until she's weaned. I've got to start experimenting!

Totally watched the YouTube video. I have the Boba wrap. In their video the kid is a freaking toddler, and it still looked like his head was a mile a over her boob

Yeah, I have the Boba and saw that video too. I haven't tried it yet but I am not sure DS would have the patience for it.

I've been able to do it in the K'tan but he has to be calm when I try it because if he's all worked up he gets super pissed and screams bloody murder.

My boobs now are DD so big but not huge.

Here's what I do. Put the K'tan on how you normally do and instead of putting him in the newborn hold as you're putting the baby in the inside pocket put him more horizontal and adjust so his mouth is aligned with your nipple and get him latched. Then pull the other part up over his butt and your shoulder. Adjust as necessary and make sure his nose isn't snitched into your boob so he can breath.

Same problem here. All of the ladies in the YouTube videos I have watched have smaller chests so I thought that might be the problem. Glad to see I am not the only one who cannot figure this out!

Yep it's the K'tan so it doesn't tie, it has 2 loops of fabric. I have yet to try with my Moby even after watching the YouTube video several times. With the wrap it looks super complicated, but I'm able to make it work with the K'tan.

There are 2 ways:
1. just lower the wrap and let baby nurse sitting up (harder with a little bitty) and then bring the wrap back up when you are done

2. wrap baby in a cradle position- i use the front cross carry https://www.wrapyourbaby.com/pretiedx.htm (in the link there is a youtube video that shows how to nurse in this position with a nb)

BUUUUUUUUT- I'm not sure if it is safe to nurse a nb in a FCC in a moby. mobys are stretchy and wovens are not, so wovens can do more carries safely.

@gywneddlesliegrace may know, or you can google or youtube it, i'm sure.

i did nurse dd1 in a moby, but again she was older with better head control. for that i used a front wrap cross carry- the usual moby carry.

I never nursed successfully in the Moby until baby was older. I can make a video on how to do it in a woven, mt, and rs if any one needs it.

I nurse on my ergo with biggish boobs. Lower the carrier as much as possible and lean the baby back a bit by extending the arm straps. Lift boob up and place on babies mouth.

Eta: when baby is older (have head and neck control) it's much much easier.
