Reflux mamas: anyone have to switch from Zantac to Prevacid?

Hi gals,
My LO has silent reflux and has been on Zantac for 3 weeks. We went from 2x a day at week 2 of meds, to 3x a day. It seems like the meds have stopped helping and she still has the wheezing in her sleep, I can hear it come up and choke her then go back down, she's still crying more than what seems right and it's sounds like pained, uncomfortable cries, just to name a few things.
When we first put her on Zantac the pedi said we may need to switch to Prevacid if it didn't work or stopped working which I think it has. I'm going to ask to switch at her appt on Wednesday, but I'm curious as to how that worked for other mamas LOs?
Anyone else have to switch to Prevacid from Zantac? Why and how did it work for your babe?

@JocelynB0911 I'm not looking forward to a fight but I will if I have to. I used to work for blue cross blue shield before I became a teacher and I know what a huge bitch it can be.

Cale was also a slow gainer due to frequent spit ups. He was 4lbs at birth and according to my home scale is 10lbs at 3 months.

@DeedsJag we are in the same exact boat. We have her 2 month appt on Wednesday and I am telling her we need to switch damnit.
@313Meg-- the choking is what makes me cringe! I feel so awful when I hear it come back up and gag her! When on earth will they grow out l&d this!!!
@missmuffin87 how does the Prilosec work for your LO
